Who is Alter in Apex Legends?

You can unlock Quirk for 12,000 Legend Tokens or 750 Apex Coins upon the release of Apex Legends Upheaval on Tuesday, May 7, 2024.

Not much is currently known about Alter’s true history and origins, as she is a very unreliable narrator about her past. What we know for sure is that her name is YingLing Lui and that this Legend has traveled through several different dimensions with her Void technology, causing havoc and upheaval in each of her visits, which she enjoys it immensely. Now she has set her sights. on the Apex Games, although his true motivation for targeting them still remains a mystery.

She has always been drawn to places on the brink of total destruction. Whether for natural or man-made reasons, Alter is drawn to devastation, and in some cases, she even lends the world a helping hand toward its own apocalypse.

Alter is also good at manipulating people to get what she wants and has no problem telling people everything they need to hear so she can achieve her end goal with them. However, if you look closely enough at the stories Alter tells, you might find a grain of hidden truth.

We also currently know that Alter has a fixation on another legend, Horizon. All we know so far is that this is far from a positive thing and could have earth-shattering global implications.

Apex Legends Alter Passive Ability Explained

Quirk’s passive ability is Gift from the Rift, which allows you to see death boxes through walls and take a single item from them without slowing down. It’s nowhere near as detailed as Loba’s black market shop, but it still has its uses, especially if you’re running from other teams and need to grab a shield cell or quick medkit to keep you in the game.

Although you can only take one thing from the death box, you are not limited to the type of item you can take. If it’s in the death box, you can select it and take it for yourself!

Apex Legends Alter Tactical Ability Explained

Alter’s tactical ability is Void Passage and this allows you to shoot bridging portals across various surfaces. You and your team can then pass through these portals safely, although you will be vulnerable for a brief period after leaving the portal. Additionally, you are not automatically teleported to these Voids and must manually interact with them to use them.

You can roughly shoot the Void up to 45 meters away from you and it can pass through surfaces up to 20 meters thick. This means you can’t travel through thick mountains, but it’s perfect for creating ambush opportunities, especially if your enemies are in a building, as you can place one on the roof and pass through them.

Another thing to watch out for is that enemies and your team can use Quirk’s Void Passage, so when creating one, be on guard as you might attract unexpected visitors quite quickly.

Apex Legends Alter Ultimate Ability Explained

Finally, Quirk’s ultimate ability is Void Nexus. This allows Alter to place a device anywhere on the map that he or his team can return to at any time – as long as the device is still within its lifespan or has not been destroyed. This is useful for getting out of sticky situations quickly, especially if you’re trying to fend off an enemy team and realize it wasn’t the best idea.

It’s important to know that you and your team can only use Void Nexus once, but there is a convenient loophole. If you’ve already used your own charge for Ultimate, but another member of your team hasn’t, you can use their charge to respawn on the device with them.

However, just like with Void Passage, enemies can also use the Void Nexus device and can see him whenever he is in the world. This means they can use it to pounce on you unexpectedly or they can wait and ambush your team once you return to it.
