Apex Legends Season 16titled “Revelry”, will be upon us soon and there’s plenty of new stuff to look forward to, including an all-new mode that brings back some old favourites.
Unlike previous seasons of Apex Legends, there are no new legends to grab in Revelry. However, that doesn’t mean there’s nothing exciting about it. In fact, given that it’s Apex’s fourth anniversary, Revelry will be a wild ride.
We have arranged the Apex Legends Season 16 release date and time below, as well as everything else to come during Revelry.
Apex Legends Season 16 release date and time
Apex Legends Season 16 will be released on tuesday 14 february.
Respawn hasn’t officially confirmed what time the new season will drop, but based on patterns from the previous season’s releases, we’re pretty sure they’ll follow the same times again.
We expect Apex Legends Season 16 to release around these times:
- UNITED KINGDOM: 6 p.m. (GMT)
- Europe: 7 p.m. (EST)
- United States East Coast: 1 p.m. (EDT)
- United States West Coast: 10 a.m. (PDT)
Note: The times above are just predictions based on previous releases, so we can’t guarantee that’s when the new season will drop.
What to expect from Apex Legends Revelry
First of all, as we mentioned above, there is no new legend for this season. However, there is a good reason for this and it is because the class system has received a major overhaul
Instead of the ones they are currently in, starting February 14, all legends will be classified into one of five new classes. We explained a bit about why a legend would be placed in the different classes here:
- Assault – They are legends who use their abilities to force their opponents into making mistakes or sudden battle decisions.
- Skirmisher – A Skimisher is a Legend who has great mobility in combat and evasive skills that can be used to ensure their safety, or used tactically to gain the optimal position in a fight.
- Acknowledgement – Recon Legends are those who can get information about their opponents and track them.
- Controller – They are legends who can use their abilities to control positions and control their enemies to fight on their terms.
- Support – These legends are, unsurprisingly, aimed at supporting the team, but they now also include defensive legends.
Goodbye Arenas, hello Mixtape
Once Revelry lands, the The 3 vs 3 Arenas mode will disappear Apex for the foreseeable future. It is replaced by Team Deathmatch, which is a limited time mode, before entering the brand new Mixtape mode.
Mixtape will have three rotating community favorite modes, as well as TDM, you can expect Gun Run and Control to be among them. You’ll have to wait three weeks after the initial season debut to see Mixtape in action.
Legend changes
The existing roster of Legends isn’t just getting the revamped class system, a few of them are getting nerfs and buffs to adjust their overall performance. Seer’s heartbeat sensor will now be audible to all nearby enemies.
Bloodhound gets a new passive! There are white crows scattered around the maps and Bloodhound will be able to spot them in an area where enemies are hiding. If they choose to scan the Ravens, they can lead you on the trail of an enemy squad. Also, pair the White Raven with Bloodhound’s ultimate and they’ll lead you straight to an unsuspecting team.
Horizon’s accuracy during Gravity Lift is reduced but, to compensate, the lifting speed has been slightly increased. Additionally, Lifeline’s Care Package drop speed has been significantly increased, meaning you’ll have less time waiting before you can pick up high-tier loot.
Mirage is another legend that has received a significant change and this one will be welcome for many of you who play as the holographic trickster. After reviving an ally as a Mirage, you and your ally will remain cloaked for three seconds but you will be disarmed. If you draw your weapon, the camouflage will be broken.
Also, when a Mirage clone gets shot you will be able to follow the confused enemy for a short period of time.
Even more new content and updates
As well as a new battle pass With a ton of new content to collect, including a legendary skin for Valkyrie called “Heartbeat Harmonizer”, there’s plenty of new content to look forward to. At a glance, here are some of the other exciting things to come at launch:
