Choose the best armor in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is a tricky business, especially since Materia gives you almost endless options to customize each piece to your liking. However, when choosing which room to customize, it’s best to go for those with medium to high base defense stats and those that often have plenty of Materia slots.
We should say that in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth you will have to work a bit and wait for the final story chapters before you can get your hands on the really powerful armor pieces. That’s mainly what our page focuses on, an overview of the best stuff you can get your hands on.
Without further ado, here are our choices for the best armor in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.

Best armor in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
Below you will find our choices for the best armor in FF7 Rebirth. However, there are a few things you should know about our list before you take the plunge. We’ve mainly focused on the best pieces of the game as a whole for this list, which means that some items can’t be picked up until later chapters of the story.
Most of the items we chose can be found during story missions or side quests, but there are two at the bottom of the latter that can only be obtained by using the item transmuter with materials specific.
It is also important to remember that This is a general list based on the base stats and characteristics of each piece of armor we chose. Your build choices and Materia selections can create more powerful pieces elsewhere.
In no particular order, here are the Best armor pieces in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth:
Cétran bracelet
- Physical Defense – 67
- Magic Defense (Spirit) – 32
The Cetran Bracelet is one that you won’t be able to get your hands on until the later chapters of the game, but it’s worth the wait. This may not seem like much on its own, especially since he doesn’t have any matter slots to use, but his strength is shown in his Physical Defense stat. At 67, this is a good option if you want to increase your chances of surviving a fight.
However, if you’re using this bracelet, we recommend choosing an accessory and weapon with plenty of material slots for the character you’re equipping it to.
Valkyrian Bracelet
- Physical Defense – 64
- Magic Defense (Spirit) – 30
We admit that the Valkyrian Bracelet is one of our favorite pieces of armor. Not only does it look very sleek and stylish, but it has a high Physical Defense stat without any Materia upgrades added. Speaking of which, the bracelet has six Materia slots that you can fill to customize it as much as you want, giving it a lot of potential to be even stronger than it is when you find it.
However, the Magic Defense stat isn’t something to ignore either, it’s reasonably high compared to other items you’ll find during your adventures in Gaia.
Cetran Armlet
- Physical Defense – 42
- Magic Defense (Spirit) – 42
The corresponding numbers for its defensive stats are satisfying to look at, but the potential to bolster the Centran Bracer’s defensive power is why it’s on this list. Again, this is a piece you won’t get your hands on until the later chapters of the game, but it’s worth the wait. With eight Materia slots, there’s no shortage of customization options for this armband.
Plus, its design echoes the Ancients and adds a badass vibe to anyone who wears it.
Cetran Armband
- Physical Defense – 33
- Magic Defense (Spirit) – 33
This bracer is, again, one you won’t see until much later in the main story, but it’s worth the wait, as are the other Cetran pieces on this list. Although this bracer’s base defense stats are much lower than the bracelets and bracelets mentioned above, it’s the bracer’s eight Materia slots that have earned their place on this list.
Additionally, when you compare the Cetran Armlet’s physical and magical defense stats to the items you collected earlier in the story, they are still quite impressive.
Improved Garm bracelet
- Physical Defense – 62
- Magic Defense (Spirit) – 29
This is the first of two craftable armor pieces on our list. The Improved Garm Bracelet is an improved version of the Garm Bracelet that can only be crafted in the Item Transmuter. This bracelet’s extremely high physical defense stat somewhat makes up for its slightly disappointing magic defense stat. However, that being said, this piece also comes with five Materia slots that can be used to easily increase magic defense.
Here are the materials you will need to make the Improved Garm Bracelet:
- x1 Garm Bracelet – Purchased in Nibelheim
- x20 Exquisite Beast Hide
Improved Resplendent Bracer
- Physical Defense – 39
- Magic Defense (Spirit) – 39
The last item on our list today is the Improved Resplendent Bracelet. Now you’re probably looking at these numbers and wondering why we took something else off our list to include this one. The answer is simple, it doesn’t take as long to get this item as it does to get the others!
You’ll still have to go through a lot of the story to get your hands on the Resplendent Bracer that this upgraded version needs, but once you have it and reach the appropriate crafting level, it’s a good thing to have . Additionally, the base defense stats of 39 each are only made more modifiable by the fact that the bracelet has five Materia slots that you can use to upgrade it as you see fit.
These are the materials you will need to make the Resplendent Bracelet. You will first need to do this:
- x50 Chromite Ore – Mainly found in Cosmo Canyon
- x5 Spirit of the planet
Here are the materials you will need to craft the Improved Resplendent Bracelet:
- x1 Resplendent Armlet
- x5 Moonstone
- x5 Crimson Crystal
- x5 Moss Agate
