In Ancient RingBy exploiting the strengths of the Blasphemous Blade, you are able to create an extremely powerful weapon. Building faith.
While some builds of Elden Ring focus on a specific weapon, incantation, or sorcery, others focus on one of the stats. When it comes to a Faith build, we’re talking about making your character take advantage of incantations and weapons that evolve with faith.
In this guide we explain in detail how the best faith building works, the best stats, weapons, armor and talismans for that too.

How to play the Faith version in Elden Ring
For this version, we have chosen to remain simple but effective by focusing on the use of the Blasphemous Blade. The concept is to spam the skill of this weapon Flames of the Taker, a powerful ability that scales with Faith. This means that the higher your Faith value, the higher the damage dealt by the skill.
This build does not require sharp reflexes or a deep understanding of each boss. Be careful though, the Taker’s Flames skill has a casting animation that locks your character in place, forcing you to stand still when facing enemies. Constantly taking damage is the only big downside to this particular playstyle.
To compensate for this, you need to have good armor and always cast incantations to improve your defense. Among those available in the game, you will always want to have the Golden wish active just in case. However, you don’t have to worry about losing HP since the Blasphemous Blade has a passive that heals you.
However, you shouldn’t only use defensive incantations. There are great damage buffs such as Flame, grant me strength
Due to this build’s high damage output and the sustain provided by combining the Blasphemous Blade with powerful incantations, this Faith build is extremely powerful.
Best Stats for Faith Build in Elden Ring
For any build, it is crucial to have the exact statistical values to make them work. Some effects are only triggered based on your stat level, while you can only properly use a weapon if you meet its individual stat requirements. But don’t worry if you spent runes to increase a different stat than the ones you need for this build. Simply respec your character and start building again.
Below you’ll find the figures you’ll need once you reach the endgame content of Elden Ring.
- Vigor: 50
- Spirit:22
- Endurance: 30
- Strength:22
- Dexterity: 16
- Intelligence:9
- Faith: 60
- Esoteric:9
To achieve these numbers, you should consider choosing Confessor as a starting class. It has the best combination of stats to help you complete the requirements of Blasphemous Blade as quickly as possible.
As expected, Faith is the stat you should focus most of your points on. Secondly, you also need to keep vigor in mind because it affects your health. Stamina is also important for this build, as it allows you to carry heavier pieces of equipment and increases your stamina.
As for secondary stats, you may want to experiment with strength and dexterity depending on the type of secondary weapon you want to use. Although not the main focus of this build, it is also possible to create Faith-Strength or Faith-Dexterity builds.
Best Weapons for Faith Build in Elden Ring
As mentioned before, the best weapon for this build is the Blasphemous Blade. Its use requires 22 Strength, 15 Dexterity, and 21 Faith, and its direct damage also scales based on these three stats. On the other hand, weapon skill Flames of the Taker evolves only with Faith but also causes fire damage.
This weapon is the heart of this build, but it is not easy to acquire early in the game. To obtain the Blasphemous Blade, you must first kill Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy at Volcano Manor and exchange Remembrance of blasphemers with Finger Reader Enia in the round table Hold for the blade. This is a mid-to-late game boss, so approaching this battle as a new player is not ideal.
Until you’re ready to face this battle, you’ll need to opt for more basic weapons. A good option is to opt for the The morning stara Strength and Dexterity based weapon that you can acquire for free at the start of the game. Another option is to research the Holy Blade
Once you are strong enough to explore Caelid, a good upgrade is the False Halo. This weapon requires 13 Strength, 16 Dexterity, and 15 Faith and allows you to shoot rings of light that damage enemies based on your Faith value. This weapon drops from the Lesser Cleanrot knights. Target the scythe-wielding knights and you should be able to get the Halo Scythe fairly quickly.
Since you will be using incantations when using this build, you want the best sigil to cast them. Among the options available in the game, the Seal of Erdtree is the one you want. You can find him in an abandoned city cell outside Volcano Manor.
Best Armor for Faith Build
This version does not require specific armor to function. You may want to choose your armor based on a theme or simply want the highest defense possible. Whatever your choice, it is important that you keep your equipment charged at AVERAGE to maintain some mobility.
That said, our main suggestion for this build is the Knight of Haligtree Set since it increases your faith. He also has strong physical defense. Another option with a higher Poise stat is the Malformed Dragon Set. Although it doesn’t give you more Faith, it does provide better defense against physical damage.
Since you only find both sets in endgame zones, we recommend checking out our guide to the best early game armor. Two initial armor sets capable of handling the initial areas of the game are: Carian Knight Set
With either of these, you can explore other parts of the Lands Between until you are strong enough to face the Lesser Cleanrot Knights mentioned in the previous section. During the farming process for the Halo Scythe, you can also search for the pieces of the Cleanrot set. Use this set until you can get one of the endgame sets.
Best talismans for building Faith
This build doesn’t rely on a specific set of talismans, but you should definitely use a few to maximize your damage. The first is the Shard of Alexander, which increases the damage of your skills. You obtain this talisman by completing the Iron First Alexander quest. Next to this, the Fire Scorpion Charmwhich you’ll find in Fort Laiedd on Mount Gelmir, is a solid option for increasing your fire damage.
If you’re worried about the amount of damage you take while charging the Taker’s Flame skill, you can equip defensive talismans, such as the Dragon Crest Shield Talismanor the Crimson Amber Medallion. The first reduces physical damage taken and the second, which has a +1 and +2 version, increases your health. You can find the Dragoncrest Shield Talisman in Elphael’s Legacy Dungeon in the Haligtree, and you can purchase the base version of the Crimson Amber Medallion from the Nomad Merchant in the Weeping Peninsula.
THE Grand Jarre Arsenal This isn’t fundamental to making this build work, but it does increase the weight you can carry. In other words, it gives you more opportunities to experiment with your armor without having to worry about carrying too much weight.
