Inspired by the Chinese novel Journey to the West, Black Myth: Wukong lets you play as the Destined One, a monkey inspired by Sun Wukong. You’ll use a staff and magic to take on the many enemies you’ll face in this Souls-inspired game.

Black Myth Wukong Release Date and Time

Black Myth: Wukong will be released worldwide on Tuesday August 20, 2024. As of this date, you will be able to play the game on PlayStation 5 on the PlayStation Store or via Steam, the Epic Games Store or WeGame. However, the exact release date of Black Myth: Wukong in your region is a more complicated question.

Since Game Science is based in China, the release time for Black Myth: Wukong is based on the UTC+8 time zone. This means that the game will be available at different times across the world, with some regions getting access a little earlier than others.

Black Myth Wukong Pre-Order Bonuses and Special Editions

Everyone who pre-orders Black Myth: Wukong, whether digital or physical, will receive the Pioneer’s Scarlet Gourd. Don’t worry if you didn’t plan on pre-ordering, as this item can be obtained by progressing through the game. Pre-ordering just means you’ll receive it a little earlier than expected.

In addition to this pre-order bonus, there are four different editions of Black Myth: Wukong: Digital Standard Edition, Digital Deluxe Edition, Deluxe Edition, and Collector’s Edition. While the Digital Standard Edition only offers the Pioneer’s Scarlet Gourd as a bonus, the others all offer additional perks. It’s important to note, however, that Only Digital Standard and Digital Deluxe editions are available for PlayStation 5.
