With the release of Black Ops 6THE classic Prestige The system has returned for the first time in years.
Rather than bringing it back in exactly the same form, Treyarch has decided to upgrade this Black Ops 6 edition of the system with a whole host of rewards and changes to bring it in line with the new era of Call of Duty.
In this guide we will review how Prestige worksvarious features such as permanent unlocks and Master Prestigeas well as a complete overview of all rewards you can unlock for each Prestige rank.

Black Ops 6 Classic Prestige explained
With the return of Classic Prestige, Black Ops 6 features a more complex and time-consuming leveling system, available from day one.
Since it is no longer linked to the seasons, your Leveling and Prestige progress is permanent.
Not only that, but there’s cross-progression with multiplayer and Zombies – and Warzone once integrated into Season 1 – meaning you can cycle through the different modes while working towards the same unified set of unlocks.
To reach a Prestige rank, you will first need to reach the maximum level of 55 and earn enough XP afterwards, as if you were leveling up to level 56.
Instead of reaching level 56, you will unlock the ability to access Prestige 1 through its associated menu, thereby resetting your level to 1 and opening up challenges to complete and rewards to earn.
However, as long as your level is 1, you will be classified as “Prestige 1, Level 1” and so on for future Prestiges.
Returning to level 1, all items will be locked againrequiring you to reach their respective levels to equip them again.
However, there are ways to bypass your equipment lock, through the inclusion of a Permanent unlock token this allows you to bypass this for one item per Prestige. Additionally, any blueprints you own will automatically and permanently unlock the associated weapon.
How to unlock Prestige Master in Black Ops 6
If you continue to level up and Prestige over and over again in Black Ops 6, you will eventually reach Prestige 10 and – after completing the ascension from 1 to 55 once more – will be able to move up the category one last time “Prestige Master”.
This is the final Prestige in the game, but has a level cap of 1,000 and various rewards granted along the way, mainly as you complete each hundred milestones.
The main feature here is really just a show of dedication, but once you’re in this Prestige and beyond level 55, none of your gear is blocked by level requirements.
Functionally, Prestige Master is comparable to the season-based leveling seen in more recent COD titles – such as last year’s Modern Warfare 3 – while long-time fans will be familiar with this system since it was first introduced in Black Ops 2.
All Black Ops 6 Prestige and Prestige Master rewards listed
Part of the incentive to climb the Prestige ranks in Black Ops 6 is unlocking a host of exclusive rewards at each tier.
Many of the most notable rewards include Operator Skins, Weapon Blueprints, Animated Emblems, and much more. All of these commemorate various modes and moments from past Treyarch releases.
As previously mentioned, each Prestige will also grant a single permanent unlock token, received upon entry. This can be spent on any item of your choice to permanently unlock it in all future Prestiges.
Keep in mind that you may want to spend them more on perks and equipment than weapons, especially if you end up earning a blueprint for a weapon that will also keep it permanently unlocked.
Alongside these, there are also a set of challenges for each Prestige level that unlock and can be viewed in their respective menus, and their requirements are revealed once the associated Prestige is reached. Each of these awards rewards additional calling cards upon completion.
However, although each of the Challenge Tokens and Perma Unlock are unlocked instantly upon entering a Prestige Rank, the rest of the more notable rewards are earned every ten levels.
This means that at levels 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 of each Prestige, there is a unique reward to be earned. Prestige 1 starts a little differently than the others, however, rewarding an Operator skin as well as a bonus unlock token.
You’ll also get a unique icon that will change as you rise through the Prestige ranks, each reflecting its associated theme.

Master Prestige
The Prestige Master rewards set works a little differently than other tiers, partly because it is the final Prestige and has a longer ascension from level 1 to 1000, rather than 1 to 55.
By entering Prestige Master, you instantly earn an operator skin for Marshalland on upon reaching level 90 you will unlock an animated blueprint for AMES 85both listed below:
- Sitting Bull reborn Operator Skin for Marshall
- Arsenal ranked Animated blueprint for the AMES 85 assault rifle
Beyond that, there are also additional challenge-related unlocks and, at level 100, a unique customization feature that allows you to manually change your level icon.
The challenges come in a series of six, each with their own Calling Card rewards, with a seventh also up for grabs.
As for the icon customization system, it offers the possibility of changing your Prestige icon when you reach different level thresholds within the Prestige Master level.
For example, with levels 100 to 900, each hundred stages allow you to choose one of the Prestige icons from previous games, from 2009’s Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare to last year’s Modern Warfare 3 .
These Prestige icons also include Prestige iconography from modes like Zombies and even Black Ops 4’s “Blackout.”
Once you hit level 1000 – the true level cap in Black Ops 6 – you’ll be able to choose from an even larger pool of Prestige Icons covering all games with Prestige Ranks above 10, as well as their Prestige Master equivalents respective.
It’s an impressive feat to reach Prestige Master in the first place, and while you don’t receive any other rewards beyond the aforementioned Operator skin and blueprint, you do gain access to a unique feature that no other player does can use, allowing you to literally choose. Hundreds of classic Prestige icons – personally I’m looking at some of the Prestige icons from Black Ops 2 and 3.
