Dragon Age The Veilguard Romance Guide

There are four main steps you need to follow to romance a companion in Dragon Age: The Veilguard:

  • Increase a companion’s bond and complete their quests.
  • Choose the “flirt” option at least a few times.
  • Commit to a mate.
  • See their “romantic” scene.

You can flirt with as many companions as you want, until you get the scene that requires you to initiate or cancel a romantic relationship with them. You’ll know you’re rejecting a romantic path when the symbol of a broken heart appears in the dialogue options.

So don’t hesitate to flirt with any companion who catches your eye, if you can’t decide right away.

How to flirt with companions

All you have to do is choose the heart symbol when he appears on the dialogue wheel to flirt with a companion. You’re not immediately locked into romance as soon as you do this, so don’t worry about getting close to multiple companions at once.

There are also opportunities to experience more unique “flirting” than just exchanging dialogue, so be sure to follow these scenes in a seductive way, if you’re looking to have sex with the person who initiates them.

How to increase bonding with companions

You need to increase your bond with your companions to unlock all their quests, which also puts you on the path to romance, provided you flirt with them as well. You can check the level of your bond with a companion by checking the number under their character’s name.

There are several ways to increase your bond with your companions in Dragon Age: The Veilguard:

  • Complete quests with them in your party.
  • Choose the dialogue options they approve of.
  • Give them a gift.
  • Kill enemies linked to their faction.

Completing quests with the companion you want to romance in your party is the easiest way to increase your bond with someone in The Veilguard. This can be tricky if you really need a specific party for difficult boss fights, but remember that there are plenty of side quests to take on that can help you out as well.

How to Commit to a Mate

As long as you follow a companion’s quest while flirting with them, you’ll eventually come to a romance scene with the option to commit to them, usually around chapter 10 (if you followed the story while flirting with him). complete a companion quest). However, keep in mind that this is just a general guideline, your engagement scene might unlock a little earlier or later!

Committing to a mate ends potential romances with others, and as far as we know, there is no option to break up with someone and end up with another mate later. So make sure you really want to be with this person when the opportunity presents itself.

Remember, you’ll know you’re rejecting a romantic path when the symbol of a broken heart appears in the dialogue options.

How to Get a Romance Scene

Getting involved with a companion is not the end of a romance, because you will continue to have a few small moments with him after confirming that you want to maintain a relationship with him.

Then, in true BioWare fashion, you get a “romantic scene” towards the end of the game, before the final battle. So all you have to do is make sure you commit to a companion before the end to be sure of experiencing a naughty evening with him. And if you want to make it more NSFW, don’t forget to enable nudity in the settings.
