THE Ainsel River in Elden Ring is a vast underground region located beneath the eastern part of Liurnia.
Its entrance to the overworld is guarded by a giant golem, but you can simply walk past it, as your objective is the small round house behind it, which hides an elevator leading to the underworld of Elden Ring. This lift is the Ainsel River Well, and the nearest grace site is the “Eastern Plateau”, just on the cliffs above, near the Church of Vows.
It’s an underground area very similar to the Siofra River, but the main reason you’ll want to visit the Ainsel is to reach Nokron, the Eternal City. So read on for our Elden Ring Ainsel River Walkthrough so you can get there in one piece.

Descend the Ainsel River Well at Elden Ring
Remember that you must use the elevator at the location indicated below to access the Ainsel River:
Once the elevator reaches the bottom of the shaft, first stay right and recover 1x Golden Rune (3) of the corpse and 3x magic grease from the waterfall at the end.
In the opposite direction there are a lot of ants. Giant ants, to be precise, and they are really, really mean. If they put their hands on you, it will be quite painful.
The first ones are hanging on the wall to the left above the water, so keep an eye on them as you move along the passage. On the way you can find 8x Mimic of grace. In the tunnels downstream there are even more ants. Beware of ambushes and unpleasant surprises from above.
On the left, at the bottom of a dead end, is 1x forge stone (3)and straight ahead, there are other ants rappelling down. Be careful with the poison they spray. An ill-timed blow can spell the end of your character.
Further on, you will arrive in an area with many skeletons. There is also 2x silver firefly And 1x Golden Rune (1) here. The path now forks:
- Continue straight to the Ainsel River Sluice Gate and take an elevator to the ruins of Uhl Palace.
- On the left, behind the ant with its back to you, there is 1x forge stone (3) to loot, as well as a Queen Ant and another entrance to the Uhl Palace Ruins.
Defeat the Ant Queen at Ainsel River in Elden Ring
The queen ant is indeed very naughty. This large rear can be very dangerous, and the reason why this ant is more deadly than the others is obvious as soon as you enter the room.
Take a look up:
As you might expect, the other ants will fall from the ceiling when you attack them. But it’s worth it, because killing the queen ant will reward you with 1x Golden Rune (10) And 1x runic bow.
The next passage also leads to the ruins of Uhl Palace and if you go up past the stone platform you will find an item there: 1x forge stone (4).
From there, jump up to the ledge with the purple object. It is 1x heavenly dewwhich you can use for absolution in the nearby Church of Vows, on the surface.
In front of the Ruins, there are Claymen and some objects lying around: 1x Golden Rune (1) near the waterfall, 1x Golden Rune (3) And 1x forge stone (1). That’s it for the Ainsel River. Now it’s time to enter the ruins of Uhl Palace and continue your journey to Noksstella, the Eternal City.
