Radagon of the Golden Order is the penultimate boss fight in Elden Ring.
You’ll need to have gone through Leyndell, Ash Capital, and beaten Hoarah Loux to come face to face with Radagon of the Golden Order.
Radagon of the Golden Order is one of the toughest bosses in the game, but since Spirit Ash summons are available in this boss fight, we highly recommend using them wisely.

How to prepare for Radagon of the Golden Order
First, you’ll want to make sure you have some sort of holy damage protection. Although the majority of Radagon of the Golden Order’s attacks are physical, they have a few Saint-based attacks in their back pocket, so it’s beneficial to be protected against these.
If you’re successful in reducing the parry time of boss attacks, you’ll definitely want to grab a shield for this fight, as there are plenty of opportunities to parry Radagon.
Radagon simply has a lot of health. If you’re going for a melee build for this fight, which we recommend, you’ll want to carry a powerful two-handed weapon with you.
There’s been a lot of debate online about whether Radagon is actually weak against Bleed-based damage, but the general consensus (and everything we’ve experienced) seems to indicate that the boss is not weak to Bleed attacks.
Radagon of the Golden Order tips: How to beat Radagon of the Golden Order
Radagon has a big hammer and he loves hitting you with it. The boss will usually start the fight by charging towards you, waiting for the last second to land a massive hammer blow at you.
The trick with this, as with many Radagon attacks, is to try to dodge at the last possible secondand don’t get sucked into dodging when the boss immediately starts preparing for an attack.
As the fight progresses, Rad agon of the Golden Order will chain more attacks with this one.
All of them usually involve big hammer blows, and while you can certainly parry these attacks if you’re having a good time getting the timing right, the easiest option is to dodge roll to the side of all attacks and to hit Radagon with a hit or two as quickly as possible.
Another common attack sees the boss soaring into the air with a spear made of holy material, before throwing it directly at you.
The important thing here is to dodge roll away as the boss’ hand comes forwardnot as the spear leaves Radagon’s hand or you’ll be caught in the blast.
Radagon also has massive area-based attacks that it can pull off. If Radagon’s foot ignites, he’s about to knock him down, causing an area-of-effect attack with Holy damage to rush near him.
You will want dodge just as the foot hits the groundas there is a split second delay between this and the area attack firing, which can easily catch up with you if you dodged too soon.
Also, if Radagon soars into the air with his glowing hammer, be prepared to dodge. The boss is about to hit the ground with the hammer three times, each causing a massive area attack that expands further with each successive hit.
Dodge just as the hammer hits the ground, but don’t be tempted to dodge too soon with the final hit, as there’s a slight pause while Radagon prepares to hit the ground with the hammer.
Finally, Radagon has a massive stun attack that he can hit you with. If the hammer is burning with holy damage and the boss is slowly moving towards you, be prepared to dodge to the side because he’s about to hit you with a massive attack.
If you don’t dodge this, you will be hit twice by Radagon’s Hammer with no way to avoid it, and it can kill even the toughest of Tarnishes.
Once you’ve chosen a starting class (like samurai) and a starting souvenir item, you first need to figure out how to level up, how to respec, and how to use Ashes of War and Attribute Scaling. If you want to improve your prowess, we recommend farming runes – especially before facing Magrit, Godrick the grafted, Crystalian, Leonine Misbegotten, Starscourge Radahn (required as part of the Ranni quest), Red Wolf of Radagon and Renalla Queen of the Full Moon after finding the location of the Glittering Stone Key.
Radagon of the Golden Order Reward
Surprise: there is no reward with Radagon! That’s because this fight is far from over, and while Radagon is out of breath, you’re about to be directly engaged in combat with the Elden Beast itself.
The Elden Beast fight is the last in Elden Ring, so it makes sense that FromSoftware would trick you into having you fight two bosses in a row.
