Castle Redmane in Elden Ring is a location south of Caelid. Here you can participate in the Radahn Festival and even face the fearsome boss, Starscourge Radahn. You must beat Radahn to be able to start the Elden Ring DLC.
You have to go to the peninsula at the far south of the area to find a (rather dangerous) entrance to this Elden Ring castle, but that’s not the only route you can take.

Elden Ring Redmane Castle Walkthrough
There are basically two ways to enter Redmane Castle, which is located at the location shown on the map below:
- Large impassable bridge: To the west of the peninsula with the castle you will find the Site de Grâce’Large impassable bridge‘. It lives up to its name. You will be shot at on the bridge, but you can cross it if you sprint with Torrent (heal yourself if necessary, quickly get back up and continue). If the Radahn Festival has already started at Redmane Castle, you can also use the teleporter before the bridge.
- Teleporter to Fort Gael: Explore Fort Gael west of Caelid and you’ll find a teleporter in a tower that will drop you directly into the castle. This route is much more pleasant.
If you choose the upper path above the bridge, you will come to a watchtower behind which you can recover 1x forge stone (3)
Follow the slope past the barricades and up to the castle. The main gate to the fortress is locked, so go through it to the right and you can get to the watchtower. Go down the ladders and you will find 1x forge stone (6) by a corpse.
From the watchtower, jump southeast onto the cliff path and follow it around the castle. After encountering a few bats that try to stop you from moving forward, you will have to climb a bit. This is followed by a jump to a small cemetery, for which it is best to use Torrent.
Three bats in the cemetery guard a corpse with 8x Smoking Butterfly. There is also a beetle that walks around with the Fiery Strike from the Ashes of War.
The wooden steps on the side of the castle lead to a door that will later open on the other side. Climb the ladder and enter the castle on the left. From up there you can already take a look at the courtyard and the enemies waiting for you.
Follow the path to the right until you reach another ladder and go down it. Kill the dog in the small courtyard and enter the room on the left. Here you can open the aforementioned wooden door and find 1x forge stone (5) and the Armorer’s Cookbook (5).
Exit the room and enter the building diagonally opposite on the left. Kill the enemy that rushes towards you, but you cannot go any further in this area. The door cannot be used.
Return to the ladder and climb it. You should have enough health points to survive the fall into the courtyard. After landing you can loot a small guard post on the left and find 1x Golden Rune (6) behind some crates.
Go back down and go east, past the wooden obstacles and the teleporter. Going up the stairs and further north, you will come to a large door. To the right of it in the room, activate the Site of Grace’Room outside the square” to catch his breath.
Leave the room again and run west into the courtyard. The stairs to the left will take you to another roof with a corpse which will give you 1x forge stone (4).
Go back and explore the western area of the castle. You will arrive in front of a gallows with a view of the two Lion Guards in the southwest courtyard of the castle. You can tackle the beasts, but fighting both at the same time is very difficult.
They are enemies of old, which means they won’t come back after you die. Killing them gives you 2x Darkforge Stone (4), 2x beast blood And 4x Old Fang.
The corpse in the pile next to us gives us 1x forge stone (4). Near the tree next to the castle gate, we also find 1x vein leaf and a Black Slime enemy.
Then return to the Site of Grace’Room outside the Place‘ and head north through the door. You will meet several NPCs who have come for the Radahn festival and to challenge General Radahn.
Radahn Festival
Talk to Blaidd, Alexander and the lady who teaches you the “polite bow” gesture. Go up the stairs to the north of the courtyard and talk to the crier, Witch Hunter Jerren. He asks if you are ready. Answer “Yes”, you will see a cutscene about General Radahn and learn the gesture “Discouraging Call”. This is how the Radahn festival officially begins.
Before entering the building behind you can collect 1x Darkforge Stone (5) on the area with the many chairs to the right.
In the chapel behind, there is another 1x forge stone (6). Stand in the elevator if you want to get to the boss fight and use the teleporter on the beach.
