Sir Gideon Ofnir is a mandatory boss fight that occurs near the end of Elden Ring.
To face Sir Gideon Ofnir, you will need to pass through Crumbling Farum Azula and enter Leyndell, Royal Capital.
Sir Gideon Ofnir can be a pretty tough son of a gun to take down, but since Spirit Ash Summons are available in this boss fight, we highly recommend using them wisely.

How to prepare for Sir Gideon Ofnir
Sir Gideon Ofnir can be a powerful magic user, if you give him enough leeway.
First, we recommend using the Mimic Tear Ash summon for this boss encounter, as he can relentlessly press the boss and give him very little wiggle room. Yes, the Mimic Tear has been nerfed since Elden Ring launched, but it’s still a viable option for dealing damage and getting Gideon’s attention.
We also recommend using a Blood or Frost special attack, infusing your weapon with either of the abilities of an Ashes of War. Much like the Mimic Tear, the Hoarfrost Stomp Ash of the War has seen a nerf, extending the cast time and slightly reducing the damage of the ability, but it’s still good for dealing solid damage to Ofnir while he’s distracted by the Mimic Tear.
Sir Gideon Ofnir Tips: How to Beat Sir Gideon Ofnir
As we mentioned earlier, Sir Gideon Ofnir deals with sorceries and incantations. He can spray you with spells throughout the battle, one of the most common of which might be his Spectral Sword Fan, which he summons above him, and will spring towards you if you are within range. breathtaking.
This is where the bleed or freeze based ability comes in handy, as you can hit Gideon without getting too close.
Sir Gideon Ofnir will also send either spinning discs of Holy damage on you, or a single large Glintstone projectile. Both can be countered by dodging thembut with spinning discs in particular, you’ll want to make sure you don’t dodge too soon, as that will leave you open to projectiles to follow you.
You know that incredibly powerful beam spell you’ve seen players kill bosses with in one hit?
Gideon has that. He can succeed if you stray too far from him, and when you see him plant both feet and prepare to attack, try to sprint around him as fast as you can to deal big damage while he casts the spell .
Sir Gideon Ofnir actually has two special attacks, both of which depend on who you defeated before him. If you defeat Mohg, Lord of Blood and inform Gideon of your deed before fighting him, he will unleash a bloody flame attack in waves, which can cause bleed damage to you.
This can be countered by either sprinting out of range or staggering Gideon dealing heavy damage before he casts the spell.
Alternatively, if you defeat Malenia, Blade of Miquella and talk to Gideon before the fight, he will transform into a lotus and smash to the ground, creating a massive area attack that stacks Scarlet Rot.
To counter this, you can either sprint out of range again or roll under Sir Gideon Ofniras he cannot change the direction of the attack once he has passed a certain point in the casting phase.
Once you’ve chosen a starting class (like samurai) and a starting souvenir item, you first need to figure out how to level up, how to respec, and how to use Ashes of War and Attribute Scaling.
