the Flask of Marvelous Physics is one of the most useful items in Elden Ring.
Alongside Flask of Crimson Tears and Flask of Cerulean Tears – which increase HP and FP respectively, and require Golden Seeds and Sacred Tears to upgrade – the Flask of Wondrous Physick can be customized by equipping Crystal Tears.
Unlike these flasks, you must first find the Wondrous Physick’s flask location. You’ll want to head to Marika’s Third Church, which thankfully isn’t far from the start of the game – although that’s some uncharted territory for those just starting out.
Looking for direction? Our what to do first in Elden Ring, Elden Ring walkthrough, Grace site locations, and main bosses in the order pages can help you out.
Elden Ring Third Church of Marika location for the Flask of Wondrous Physick
The bottle of marvelous medicine can be found in the Limgrave starting regioneven if it will always be necessary to cross beyond the starting zone.
You’ll find him at Marika’s Third Church in East Limgrave. While you can head here right away, it’s recommended that you pick up the two Limgrave Map Fragments to help you navigate the world a bit easier.
To find the location of the third church of Marikatake the road northwest of Lake Agheel, or north of Mistwood.
Once there, at the Statue Altar, you will also find a Sacred Tear as well as your first Crystal Tear, the Crimson Crystal Tear, which restores half of your total HP. The vial is in a large stone bowl on the ground nearby.
Once you’ve chosen a starting class (like samurai) and a starting souvenir item, you first need to figure out how to level up, how to respec, and how to use Ashes of War and Attribute Scaling. Need direction from there? Try to find Golden Seeds, Holy Tears, Crystal Tears, Talismans, and some of our top weapon and armor picks. If you want to improve your prowess, we recommend farming runes – especially before facing Magrit, Godrick the grafted, Crystalian, Leonine Misbegotten, Starscourge Radahn (required as part of the Ranni quest), Red Wolf of Radagon and Renalla Queen of the Full Moon after finding the location of the Glittering Stone Key.
Once you have the flask, rest at a grace site and you can select “Mix Wondrous Physick” from the menu. This takes you to a screen showing all of the Crystal Tears you’ve found. Up to two crystal tears can be mixed.
You will find Crystal Tears mostly in Minor Erdtrees, some of them just at the base, others after completing a battle against an Erdtree Avatar.
Like the other flasks, this is an item you’ll also want to equip in your quick items for convenience. Once you’re ready to start expanding on what you can do with the Flask of Wondrous Physick, our top Crystal Tears explainer can help.
