Best fodder investments for FIFA 23 FUT trading
If you want to earn coins quickly, you need to be very practical with your trading. But if you’re happy to wait for the investments to mature, there are plenty of items you can purchase in FIFA 23 Ultimate Team that will increase in price over time.
The most reliable investment you can make is in the Squad Building Challenge (SBC) fodder. By this we mean cards that are popular for SBC solutions. In recent years, that has meant cards rated 83 and above, in popular leagues, nations, and positions. These cards are usually cheap at the start of the game (when there are very few SBCs with team rank requirements) and also drop in price during high supply periods (see “Rewards and Lightning Rounds” section) below) or when the SBCs clear up periodically.
The trick is to simply buy a lot of these cards during their low times, then wait for EA to release popular SBCs that require high-quality cards to complete, which will suddenly increase demand. For example, the 84 rated Harry Maguire card in the latest FIFA was available for 1500 coins during some early times but was selling for 6-8k per card in November when the first base icon upgrade SBC was released. been posted online.
If you’re happy to be patient, choose a cheap SBC forage card (84-rated Muniain and Declan Rice seem like good possibilities) and buy as many as you can afford. Don’t spend all your coins on it, because you want some left over for other things, but having 50% of your coins tied up in investments like this can be a good rule of thumb.
Another investment option is Team of the Week cards. If you end up with a stack of coins early on, then Week 1 squad players might be a good shout out, as they’ll be the least stocked of all the cards, and eventually either disappear or instantly sell out at their maximum Buy Now (BIN) price. The price of other TOTWs will also increase as they become more useful for SBCs, so buying them at or near the scrap price is also a pretty solid investment.
How to Earn Coins from Rewards and Lightning Rounds in FIFA 23
If you have a few hours to spend trading per week and want reasonably quick returns, we recommend returning items during reward periods and Lightning Rounds. It’s basic economics: you buy things when they’re cheap, then you sell them when the price goes up.
Every Thursday morning at 07:05 UTC (08:05 BST, 09:05 CEST, 03:05 EDT, 00:05 PDT), EA releases the Division Rivals rewards. Then on Sunday at 08:00 UTC (09:00 BST, 10:00 CEST, 04:00 EDT, 01:00 PDT), EA releases the Squad Battles rewards. Engaged players immediately tear up their reward packs and list their items, creating an additional supply for everything from SBC fodder to metaplayers.
We also see the same supply increases – in fact much more – during “Lightning Rounds”, which are times when EA sells high-value packs in the store for FIFA Points during game promotions. For example, there will likely be Lightning Rounds on Black Friday, with Rare Player Packs (1000 FIFA Points), Jumbo Rare Player Packs (2000 FP) and Ultimate Packs (2500 FP) on sale at 6pm, 7pm and 7pm respectively. 8pm UK time. Recent FIFAs have also seen other Lightning Rounds at other times.
There are two ways to get in on the price reduction action during these times. The first is to “cut” low cost cards. The second is to bid on them low.
Beforehand, identify the players you want to target and note their usual price. Maybe he’s an SBC fodder player like 87-rated Fabinho. When rewards or Lightning Rounds roll in, just search for them at lower than normal prices and buy whatever you find. Then wait a few hours for the extra supply to run out and the price to recover, then resell them.
Auctions – or “mass auctions” – can be even more effective. Wait 59 minutes after rewards or Lightning Rounds drop, then search your target player’s rosters. You can often bid low on what should be more expensive cards, and the sheer volume of cards being processed means some of those bids go through unchallenged. It’s not uncommon during particularly busy times to win auctions for dozens of SBC fodder cards for thousands of coins less than their usual price.
The Bronze Pack method in FIFA 23 explained
The Bronze Pack method, aka BPM, is one of the most reliable ways to earn coins in Ultimate Team, but it’s also one of the longest.
The idea is simple: you buy the Premium Bronze Pack for 750 coins in the store, then sell whatever is of value inside. Depending on where we are in the game cycle, some bronze players will be valuable for SBC solutions, and the windfall from the sale of these players is often enough to fund several more bronze packs. Excess and duplicate players can then be placed into the regular “Bronze Upgrade” SBC which spits out a pair of silver players.
The BPM is more or less useful at different times in the cycle. At the time of writing, for example, we are in the launch period, which means that certain subsets of bronze players are in high demand for the Foundation and Advanced SBCs. Later, EA will launch league SBCs, which require players from specific leagues to complete, which will increase the price of bronze players from major competitions like English Premier League, League 1, etc.
On other occasions, when League SBCs have expired or the game is a little quieter, the BPM may be less effective. But League SBCs are often relaunched a week or two later, so even in those times it can be worth opening bronze packs and saving any previously valuable bronze players to sell later when EA brings the game back. SBC set.
One of the things that puts people off from BPM is the volume of grind required. You have to open a lot of packages and sort a lot of fodder. But if you have the time, especially on the go or sitting on the couch with your phone, it can be very satisfying.

Chemistry Style and Position Change Trade in FIFA 23 FUT Explained
Each player in FIFA 23 can have a style of chemistry applied to them, increasing specific stats, and most cards in the game have alternate positions, allowing them to be played in different places in your formation. Applying these changes requires consumables, which cost coins, and astute traders have noticed that players will pay more for maps that already have the consumable applied. Chemistry style and position change trading are based on this.
First, identify a meta player that costs between 1k and 50k. It usually has to be a metaplayer, because people intend to use these cards, which is why they buy them with the chemistry style or positional modifier applied. (This will also work to some extent for SBC fodder cards with positional modifiers applied, but maybe not nearly as much.) Calculate their lowest buy-it-now (BIN) price with no chemistry style or position change, then their lowest BIN with one or both already applied. If it’s a few thousand pieces higher, reflecting the price of consumables, it’s a good candidate.
You want cards that rely on expensive chemistry styles (eg Hunter and Shadow) and desirable stance shifting (eg ST to LW, as with Timo Werner). Readjust your search filter so that you are looking for the lowest BIN price on this player, then keep refreshing the search until you find one with the chemistry style or position modifier applied, and buy it . Then re-list it for 2-3000 more (depending on the Chemistry Style sell price) and cash in the profit. Rinse and repeat.
The trick to this technique is to be able to continue to seek and draw cards at their lowest price. EA’s search tool caches results, so if you keep pressing “Search” it won’t give you updated listings. However, you can force it to fetch new results by changing the “Lowest Bid Price” in increments of 50 coins, while keeping the same BIN price search.
If you’re on console or PC, you can also click “Compare Players” while looking at the results, then exit out of the next screen it shows you, and it should refresh the rosters.
