Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 arrives this weekend, and thanks to some teasing from developer Epic Games, we had a good idea of what to expect in terms of themes and character cameos.
Over the past few weeks of Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3, we’ve seen characters disappear – and it seems to be tied to the new Paradise theme which, unfortunately, looks more sinister than it looks.
This is when Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 Begins and what we expect to appear.

Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 Release Time
Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 has a Sunday September 18 release date.
Epic has confirmed downtime will begin around 2 a.m. ET. Allow for the few hours of downtime that comes with every new major update, expect the launch to occur around the following times:
- UK: 09:00 (BST)
- Europe: 10:00 a.m. (CEST)
- US East Coast: 4:00 a.m. (EDT)
- US West Coast: 1:00 a.m. (PDT)
Note that downtime may be longer; new seasons are major updates and setbacks may occur. If you’re in the Americas, we recommend waiting until morning before playing to be safe – while those in Europe should play mid-morning.
Before that, be sure to unlock any remaining Battle Pass rewards you want, unlock the Indiana Jones skin (give yourself plenty of time to solve the secret door outside the main chamber in the Shuffled Shrines puzzle!), and make sure to spend those gold bars.

What can we expect from Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4?
Unlike last season, we’ve got some details on what to expect from Chapter 3 Season 4 – though plenty of mystery remains, thanks to some cryptic but interconnected teases over the past two weeks.
First, there is the theme – paradise. This theme is, however, more sinister than it seems – with the reveal accompanied by three viral clips where, despite their rosy beginnings, they quickly seem consumed by a metal-like substance.
He even invaded Times Square! The promotional campaign, in any case:
What does it mean? This substance appears to be called ‘chromium’, with another tease from the Fortnite Twitter account capitalizing the letters to spell the word, alongside the phrases ‘It consumes everything’, ‘Free ’em’ and ‘You might be the one. next “.

Free who, exactly? Other teasers have featured characters popping out of Chromium, seemingly consumed by it.
The community has matched all four teasers with previous leaks to feature what they believe are next season’s Battle Pass characters – including a gothic version of Meowscles and Spider-Gwen.
Chrome has also appeared in the game, suggesting it’s already taking over the map – but how it relates to the overall story, including the reality tree and zero point, remains to be seen.
We will find out very soon when the season launches!
