Fortnite Chapter 4 is on the horizon, and thanks to some teases from Epic Games and an upcoming live event to launch it, we have an idea of what might be in store.
Throughout Fortnite’s last season, we’ve seen the island slowly being consumed by Chrome – this phenomenon seemingly reaching a tipping point as part of the season finale.
This page explains the Fracture live event start timeand what we might expect in the new Chapter.
On this page:
Fortnite Chapter 4 Estimated Release Date
Based on previous years, Fortnite Chapter 4 will likely release on Sunday, December 4.
Although the end of the first chapter saw an extended downtime of several days, the transition from Chapter 2 to Chapter 3 was much faster – so we expect Chapter 4 to release the day after the event. live.
To back this up, each Chapter 3 season launches on a Sunday – suggesting that Epic is comfortable streaming new seasons live on a weekend, and must assume it will continue this trend in Chapter 4.
Additionally, Epic said players who log into Fortnite before December 4 at 2:45 a.m. ET / 7:45 a.m. UK will receive the Toasty Roast emote. It’s almost 10 o’clock after the live event (is there another black hole-style hold screen planned?) which is another possible sign that the new season could launch the next day.
Of course, this is only our estimate based on previous seasons. Epic has yet to confirm its release date, and since new chapters introduce significant changes to the game (a new map with new mechanics and features), further downtime might be likely.
As such, it’s possible for things to appear late on Sunday, or even Monday.
Fortnite Fracture Live Event Release Time
The Fracture Live Event on Saturday, December 3will be the Chapter 3 finale. Fracture start times are as follows:
- United Kingdom: 9 p.m. (GMT)
- Europe: 22:00 (CET)
- US East Coast: 4:00 p.m. (ET)
- US West Coast: 1:00 p.m. (PT)
As always, this is a “one-time in-game event” – so if you miss out, you’ll have to settle for a YouTube replay instead.
Note that Epic Games has advised players to load 30 minutes before the event but that said, it is possible to join up to 40 minutes later while it is still in progress.
You can also party for a team of four if you want to watch with friends.
What can we expect from Chapter 4 and the Fracture event?
The end of the chapter is a milestone in Fortnite – not only to wrap up and begin storylines, but also to introduce welcome new features to the game’s ever-expanding sandbox.
Based on what happened with the arrival of Chapter 2 and Chapter 3, we expect:
- A new Fortnite map (or could it be Maps?)
- New features (previous additions include swimming, weapon attachments, and a sliding mechanic)
- Possible engine updates or new features (or at least pave the way for them)
Some of them are based on teases and previous seasons, others are our guesses. Let’s dive into our thinking.
First, expect a new map. It is practically a given, but this time it is possible that we have several available. Our Tom discusses this theory in more detail, but the live event theme, Fracture, suggests a “split” of realities of some sort, allowing players to choose between islands, including revamped versions of old ones. .
It’s us speculating a bit, but it’s not the first time a Battle Royale game has done this, and it will be a good way to welcome new ideas and those who feel they haven’t had enough time with the Chapter 3 map. It’s only been around for 12 months after all!
As for new features in the game, this is perhaps the biggest unknown. Chapter 3’s slip and prop additions weren’t as dramatic as Chapter 2’s, and we suspect the same for Chapter 4 – but that’s not to say Epic has the ability to surprise.
Finally, when it comes to engine upgrades and features, this is something we’re definitely familiar with – specifically, the introduction of “Unreal Editor for Fortnite” (or UEFN). This will revamp Creative Mode significantly, expand its capabilities, and possibly even allow creators to moni tor their work, like games like Roblox.
It’s been delayed to January, but Chapter 4 could essentially lay the groundwork for its introduction. How or if this will feed into Chapter 4 remains to be seen, but we’ve seen some points of interest use creative maps in the past, so it’s possible we’ll see a push in that direction again here – next. of anything larger Creative mode-specific blueprints are in store.
Sorry friends, the team is working very hard, but the Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN) has been postponed to the end of January 2023.

Beyond that, there have been a number of cryptic teasers thanks to the official Twitter account. Some of it is pretty non-specific – characters on the map realizing something is looming their way, as well as teaser images – but you can rewatch everything if you want to try guessing what might happen.
As for the Fracture live event itself, there have already been a number of leaks, from dialogue to assets. We won’t spoil them here, and neither will our report – but be wary of the details if you want to get into the event fresh.
Whatever happens, we can expect a long downtime and new features and surprises when Chapter 4 returns. Be sure to wrap up everything you want from Chapter 3 before it’s gone. for real !
