Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 release date and what to expect from the new season

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 rapidly approaching. We now have official confirmation from Epic Games of the start date for Fortnite Wilds, and the new season’s official name gives plenty of clues as to what’s to come.

Over the past few days, official Fortnite announcements have been popping up on social media, with a full cinematic trailer released recently at Summer Games Fest.

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 Release Time

When Epic Games posted an official trailer for the new season on Twitter, they confirmed that Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 was releasing on friday june 9.

As of this writing, we don’t know the official release time for the new season update. However, a recent tweet from @FortniteStatus confirmed that they have already started disabling matchmaking to prepare for the release of the new season today.

What to expect in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3

It’s release day for the next season of Fortnite, and alongside the social media hints that have been popping up, we now have official confirmation of everything we can do in Fortnite Wilds.

Season name

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 is officially called “Fortnite Wilds”, which gives a huge boost to some of the leaks and rumors we’ve heard so far about the potential map setting for this season.

Theme/Frame

The middle of the Fortnite map is going to be very different this season. The reason? The entire central part of the map has collapsed to reveal a thick, lush, and sometimes muddy jungle filled with ancient things to discover.

The grinding rails in this area are made of tree vines, which means you can live out your Tarzan fantasy while sliding down the thick ropes to escape or ambush your enemies. Also, if you want to do a quick slide or escape chasing your enemies, you can visit the muddy parts of the jungle.

Need height? Then you can now climb up to the treetops of the new jungle environment and take out your enemies one by one from up there. If you have trouble seeing them, you can always rely on the new thermal DMR – this weapon prevents enemies from hiding.

New glide

Need a quick escape through the jungle but don’t have the energy to run? Then you can always ride a Raptor! These prehistoric creatures can be tamed and ridden if you find them. However, you can still hatch your own prehistoric boyfriend by finding a Raptor Egg.

Transformers

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 will feature a Transformers collaboration, although the extent of the collaboration is still unclear. So far, we know that the following Transformers items will be available:

• Skin Optimus Prime – Battle Pass.
• Optimus Primal Skin – Item Shop.
• Cybertron Cannon – New weapon.

As we’re only at the start of the new season, we expect to see more Transformers-themed items appear on the map and in the Battle Pass – maybe even a themed event? Only time will tell.

New skins

An official Fortnite press article confirms the existence of all the skins listed below, as well as the Optimus Primal which will be available in the Item Shop at launch.

What would Fortnite be without weapons? Honestly, probably interesting, but the heart and soul of battle royale is scrambling to find a weapon before an enemy gets there first.

The power of the flowers

There are even more new weapons in the form of…flowers? There are explosive bombs, stink flowers, and slurp flowers to find in the new jungle environment that can be used to slow down enemies or give you that little boost you need to get ahead .

Also, a flower is called a hop flower and you can use them to jump. The best part is? There is no risk of falling if you use them!

Job sites

Bounty Boards will look a little different this season, as they will now come in the form of Job Boards. These new boards will offer three types of jobs, including bonuses, so interact with one when you find one and take your pick!

There are a handful of new and returning boosts for Fortnite Wilds, here’s a quick list of everything coming and going for the new season.

• Average ammo acquired – Instantly get medium ammo and more every time you open a chest.
• Quick shotgun reload – Shotguns reload faster.
• Reckless Rifle Reload – Assault Rifles reload faster when emptying a magazine.
• Sprint lines – Use Ascenders, Grind Vines, Ziplines and Grind Rails to get a Slap effect.
• shell slide – You get shotgun shells when you slide.
• Primal Companion – When you ride an animal, you get heat vision and gain health.
• Wild Wasp Armament – You get a few Wildwasp jars and each time you kill you get another jar.
