While you’ll come across most of them while exploring Fortnite Island, others may be harder to find due to rotation of spawns with other characters in matches.

Character Collection in Fortnite Explained
A new collection of characters arrives at the start of each Fortnite season challenging you to find all the NPCs on the island. New characters may arrive and others may leave throughout the season, so it’s a good idea to keep an eye on your character collection if you want to meet them all.
The Character Collection acts as a catalog for the characters that appear on the Fortnite map. To add a character, you just need to find them and talk to them during a match since most of them act as vendors. If you attack them, they will retaliate!
It’s also important to remember that some Chapter 3 Season 4 characters won’t appear every match, so to complete your collection you’ll need to visit certain locations multiple times in different matches.
Character Collection List and Locations in Fortnite
Below are all of the characters, along with their locations, that are currently part of the Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 Character Collection.
Just like previous seasons, a selection of the characters listed below will rotate their appearance between matches, meaning that even if you are in their current location, they may not be present. These characters include Kit and the various Jonesys who live in Fort Jonesys.
We’ve put “Variant” next to these characters in the table below, so you’ll know which ones to watch out for.
The Fortnite Character Collection badge reward explained
Although completing the Character Collection for Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 results in a small reward, unfortunately it is not Battle Pass XP. You will, however, earn a small amount of XP by talking to characters in matches.
Instead, you’ll receive a badge on your Legacy page, which can be accessed from the Careers tab in the game’s main hub. You can also review your Fortnite achievement from the start of Chapter 2 on this tab as well.
It’s currently possible to complete the Chapter 3 Season 4 Character Collection and earn the badge, but it will take you multiple matches to find all of the characters.
