Genshin Impact Yelan Talents, Banner, Rarity, Element and Weapon
Yelan is a Archer Hydro 5 star with high DPS (damage per second) and fast movement speed, which also has the potential to be used in a support or pure DPS role.
Here is a summary of Yelan’s abilities and stats in Genshin Impact:

Yelan Normal Attack: Stealth Archery
Yelan enters a Breakthrough state after a short time out of combat, causing her next Charged Aimed Shot to have a reduced charge time. When charged, she can fire a Barb Breakthrough that will deal Hydro AOE (area of effect) damage.
Elemental Skill: Persistent Lifeline
Pressing or holding down the skill button allows Yelan to move quickly, marking opponents in his path. When his fast move ends, his lifeline explodes, dealing Hydro damage to marked targets. Yelan has a chance to reset her Breakthrough state based on the number of tagged opponents.
Elemental Burst: Deep Bugle Dice
This powerful move causes AOE Hydro damage and creates wondrous dice that aid Yelan or any active character in battle. The dice follow the selected character and launch a coordinated attack when your active character uses a normal attack and when Lifeline explodes and hits opponents.
Genshin Impact Yelan Talent Hardware
To get the most out of using Yelan, you’ll need to upgrade his abilities using Talent Materials, which vary from character to character.
As Yelan was playable in a beta for some, information about his character was obtained by honeyhunterworld. Please note, Yelan’s Talent materials may change when it is officially released in Update 2.7. We will update this page if anything changes with Yelan after patch 2.7 is released.
For now, the table below explains the Yelan Talent materials and how much Mora you need to upgrade one of his abilities, as soon as it appears in the beta.
As Yelan has three Talents, you will need to spend the talent materials listed below three times to fully upgrade all of his abilities.

Materials Genshin Impact Yelan Ascension and Constellation
Much like Talents, you need to use Yelan Ascension materials to boost his health, attack, defense, and critical hit effectiveness.
With each ascension, Yelan will also gain a Constellation upgrade, with each upgrade enhancing either an existing talent or passive ability. There is also Destiny rewarded for reaching certain levels of Ascension. You can spend fate on banners to wish for characters or weapons.
Yelan’s Ascension materials, Constellations and Ascension rewards are also from its beta version by honeyhunterworld, and just like its Talent materials, Yelan Ascension materials may change after 2.7 update. We will also update this section if anything changes with Yelan after the Patch 2.7 releases.

Unlike Talent Materials, you only need to spend the above Ascension Materials once to fully elevate Yelan to her highest character level.
Best build of Yelan in Genshin Impact
With her ability to heal party members, Yelan has the potential to be a good support character on a team that lacks effective healing abilities. She can also be a good DPS dealer when her health is boosted.
However, it’s his passive damage after using his Depth-Clarion Dice Elemental Burst, while not on the field, that makes Yelan a great character under DPS.
An under-DPS character is best paired with a high-DPS character, like Xaio or Ganyu, so they can boost the main attacker’s damage even further. With Yelan, you’ll also want to have a party member who can help him with his expensive power needs like fellow Hydro user Xingqiu.
If you are lucky enough to have Raiden Shogun, we highly recommend pairing him with Yelan and using Raiden as your main DPS character. Raiden will help recharge Yelan’s energy, so she can take advantage of the damage boost gained after Yelan activates the Depth-Clarion dice.
The best Yelan Artifacts in Genshin Impact for a DPS build helps recharge his energy quickly, so you can use Depth-Clarion dice as much as possible. Using artifacts that increase Yelan’s elemental blast damage is also recommended.
However, if you want a pure DPS Yelan build, you need to equip artifact sets that increase Yelan’s health, which actually increases his damage while active on the field. Think of Yelan’s health as his damage instead of his actual attack stats when building for high DPS.
Best Yelan Sub DPS build
With all of that in mind, if you want to take advantage of his under-DPS abilities, we’ve compiled what we think is currently the best build of Yelan in Genshin Impact below:
- best weapon: Aqua Simulacra (or Favonius Warbow if you don’t want Wish on weapon banners)
- Best Artifacts: Emblem of Severed Fate x4 for energy recharge and elemental burst damage (try to get at least x2 Emblem of Severed Fate for +20% energy recharge)
- The best team members: A high DPS character (like Raiden Shogun, Ganyu or Xiao), a character to help with elemental recharge (like Xingqiu or Raiden Shogun), and a good support character (like Venti or Diona)
It may take a long time to find these artifact and ascension/talent materials to upgrade Yelan, but it’s worth it. Yelan is a great DPS secondary character who can also replace pure DPS and support characters if needed.
