You have to solve Paper theater puzzles as a member of Lantern Rite Event in Genshin Impact if you want to earn rewards like Primogems and Mora.

There are three Paper Theater puzzles in each scene, with more scenes to unlock as the Lantern Rite 2023 event progresses. To help you earn rewards like a free 4-star character, we’ve detailed exactly how to solve all Paper Theare puzzles in Genshin Impact during version 3.4 below.

Genshin Impact Paper Theater Puzzle Solutions Explained

There are four stages in the Paper Theater event during Lantern Rite, with three puzzles to solve for each scene. Not all stages are unlocked at the start, so you’ll have to wait a few days at the start for the chance to complete them all and claim their rewards.

Here’s when you’ll have access to each scene in Paper Theater:

Back home – available from the start of the event
Through the mountains – unlocks Jan 21 at 4am (server time)
Above the heights – unlocks Jan 23 at 4am (server time)
Ex-Follower – unlocks Jan 25 at 4am (server time)

You have until Monday, February 6 at 4 a.m. (server time) to solve all the paper theater puzzles and claim your rewards.

The actual gameplay of Paper Theater is a puzzle. Different objects and characters are placed in each section of the stage, and you must swap these sections to guide the main character to their goal. The objectives will always be to reach a certain character or object included in the scene.

Sometimes you’ll see a padlock above a section of the stage – this means you can’t swap that section for another.

Beware of the traps and interstices sometimes placed on the stage. If the main character falls into a trap or falls through a gap on the bottom row, the scene will be reset and you will have to start the puzzle over from the beginning.

Please note that if you reduce the difficulty of one of the theater puzzles, the solutions below will not work for you! You can return to standard difficulty by exiting the puzzle and trying again. Resetting after lowering the difficulty will not restore it.

Paper Theater Homecoming puzzle solutions Day 1

There are three Paper Theater puzzles to solve during the Day 1 Homecoming scene. Here is exactly how to solve each Homecoming Paper Theater puzzle:

Homecoming Scene Puzzle Solution 1

The first Homecoming puzzle is designed to familiarize you with the concept of the event. All you have to do to solve Homecoming Scene 1 is:

Move the second section with the vase to the third section with the door while the main character is in the first section.

Homecoming Scene 2 Puzzle Solution

The first trap is introduced during the second Homecoming scene, but don’t worry if your character hits it – you can try again. Here’s how to solve the Homecoming Scene 2 puzzle:

Move the first section with the main character to the second section with the trap.

Move the first section with the trap to the third section with the door, while the main character is in the second section.

Reunion scene 3 puzzle solution

For the third Homecoming puzzle, you need to guide the main character to Yibing, the little girl, but the first section is locked. Here’s how to solve the Homecoming Scene 3 puzzle:

Move the second section with the girl to the third section with the vase, while the main character is in the first section.
Move the second section with the main character and the vase to the third section with the girl and the trap.

Paper Theater Across Mountains puzzle solutions Day 2

There are three Paper Theater puzzles to solve during the Day 2 Across Mountains scene. Here is exactly how to solve each Across Mountains Paper Theater puzzle:

Through the Mountains Scene 1 puzzle walkthrough

From now on the sections are numbered starting from the top left of the scene.

The first Across Mountains puzzle introduces you to the gaps. Drop one on the top row and you can make it to the other side of the bottom row. However, if you fall from a void on the bottom row, you will have to start the puzzle over.

Here’s how to solve the Across Mountains Scene 1 puzzle:

Move the fourth section with the main character to the first section with the space.
Move the fourth section with the gap to the third section with the trap.

Across Mountains Scene 2 puzzle walkthrough

Here’s how to solve the Across Mountains Scene 2 puzzle:

Move the first section with the main character to the third section with space.
Move the third section with nothing on it (while the character is on the second section) to the first section with space.
Move the first section with nothing on it to the third section with the space and the main character.

Across Mountains Scene 3 puzzle walkthrough

This is quite a tricky puzzler that requires you to strategically bounce the main character between obstacles and quickly swap sections.

Here’s how to solve the Across Mountains Scene 3 puzzle:

Move the fourth section with the main character to the third section with the trap.
Move the first section with the space (when the main character is on it) to the third section with the obstacle.
Rapidly move the first section with the obstacle to the fifth section with the obstacle and the trap.
