Overwatch Hero Guidelines
There are currently 23 heroes to play with in total, although Blizzard has strongly confirmed that there will be more to come in the coming months. They are divided into four distinct categories of Offense, Defense, Tank and Support.
We are in the process of updating all of these guides continuously over time, but we think they should give you a different edge over the competition right away. If you would like to get a feel for each image of the ancient Hall books, be sure to check out our history of Overwatch biografics.

Overwatch Map Guidelines
There are currently a few or so maps available for Overwatch, which are spread out in four separate and distinct categories. Here's a quick overview of how different objective processes work across the map pool, as well as a brief overview of each battlefield

More Circular Guidelines
If you want to get a better understanding of the planning and execution requirements of Overwatch, we have a few mixed references that you may find useful when getting started.
We also found a rough guide on how to properly select a team when finding a line with random players, and an overview of the best starters in each category. Want to increase your chances of getting a Google Play Game? We have some firsts on how it works too.
The team builds
Followed group guides will help you build a solid startup team on any map you find yourself in. Don't forget, though, that flexibility is key to Overwatch and you should be willing to switch Heroes to combat some threat!
One thing! There is currently no in-game program for creating Overwatch teams, which means you're limited to playing random players or people on your friends list. As we reported earlier this month, Metabomb partnered with The100 creators to create an Overwatch team tool.
Think of it as a kind of instant team service where you will be permanently assembled by a pool of 100 ranked players who share the same playing philosophy and – most importantly – schedules. This way you should always have a group of friends ready to jump into the game when it suits you. If Bastion's triple attack has attracted so many random players it's starting to wear a little subtle wear, you have to sign up.
Overwatch tips for new players
Here are a few useful tips that we will leave with you. Some will be clear on FPS reappards, but we anticipate that Overwatch will capture the attention of an unusually large audience.
- It may take you a while to develop a little discipline when it comes to your ammo. In a one-on-one struggle it is all too easy to panic and load your weapon on an opponent. Focused fireworks – combined with smart moves – can often give you an important edge. Never let go of a fight either.
- Talk to your team! If you are out of the headset you can use the tab key on the PC to rotate between battles and group chats. It's frustrating to watch people fail to coordinate and charge the same defense dead the same way, many times, but if you know better than them then make sure you talk (well, of course)!
- Commit to playing a few games with every member of the championship team. Not only will this make you a round player, it will also help you find your niche in this game. Even if you have a horrible good intentions there may be a Support or Tale hero who is right for you.
- Play around with control settings, but don't do too much unless you're born to play first-time shooters. There is a sweet spot of precision you need to find, and by default things are sluggish. Continue to enforce that high sensitivity over time to gain a stronger profit.
- One last tip. Resist the urge to become a one-man / woman-drinking machine. It's so easy to imagine that you must be doing something – or anything – all the time, when it is common sense to wait for a co-worker or two to find you in the living room. You never win a 6 v 1 encounter in this game, but it's amazing how many people give you the chance to go on anyway!
