Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Midgardsomr Weakness
Midgardsormr is weak to ice and synergy abilities. So, Ice type magic like Blizzard and Summon like Shiva can greatly help during combat.
Not to be confused with Synergy Skills, Synergy Abilities are unlocked in battle after enough abilities, skills, or special items have been used by two characters. Look for the two black and white lines that resemble the pause symbol next to an action, to see if it counts toward unlocking a synergy ability in combat.
Keep in mind that Midgardsormr has greater resistance to fire attacks and is completely immune to status effects like poison, sleep, and silence.
How to beat Midgardsormr in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
In general, you should use ice attacks on the Midgardsormr Skull Dome target to put pressure on them, then use synergy abilities during endgame to stagger and beat Midgardsormr in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirthbefore unleashing his powerful charged attack.
You’ll know that Midgardsormr has moved on to another phase when a short cutscene plays.
Preparing for Midgardsormr
We highly recommend doing side activities in the Grasslands to increase your party’s level and that of your individual characters so that it will be easier to kill Midgardsormr quickly before he can use his charged attack. Our characters were level 22 when we faced the boss, but as long as your party has all ice and healing matteryou should be able to take on Midgardsormr a few levels down.
Make sure to use your SP in bookstores or resting places to unlock all possible character skills before starting combat, and have a Equipped Special Weapon Skill Materia for each active member of the party.
Since you don’t need any elemental matter other than ice, you should also equip any elemental matter. HP Up Hardware you have some, and we also recommend that you have at least one character Link Auto-Cast Materia to Healing Materia
Now that you’re ready, here’s how to defeat Midgardsormr in each phase of the boss fight:
Midgardsormr – Phase 1
Midgardsomr uses Headbutt, Snap. and the Coil attacks during its first phase, which are pretty easy to dodge or block as usual when you see their names pop up. You should start the fight by attacking to build your ATB bar, then use ice attacks like Blizzard as soon as you can.
Be sure to change your target to Midgardsormr’s skull dome when it appears to speed up during this first phase.
Midgardsormr – Phase 2
Midgardsormr adds Devour and Scorching Breath to its moveset, with Devour being fairly easy to dodge or block as usual. However, you should keep a distance from Midgardsormr and block for safety when you see Scorching Breath
If a character is trapped by Midgardsormr, target their Cranial Dome with ice attacks to free them. Additionally, when Midgardsormr ducks underwater, keep an eye out for its shadow and run away from it to avoid taking heavy damage when it emerges.
Midgardsormr – Phase 3
You should aim to use a synergy ability during this third phase to Pressure and Stagger Midgardsormr as soon as possible, so he doesn’t unleash his big charged attack. Ice attacks also work, but are slower to pressure. Once staggered, use your most powerful moves on Midgardsormr: Limit Breaks, Ice attacks, more synergy abilities if available, and powerful character abilities.
Good luck facing Midgardsomr in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth!
