How to prepare for the boss fight Midra, Lord of Frenzied Flame
To fight Midra, Lord of Frenzied Flames, you will need to go to Abyssal woodswhere deep (southwest of the area, to be precise) you will find a mansion called Midra Manor. It is located on the upper floor in a room called the Discussion Chamber, the closest available Grace Site near the boss room is called ‘Second floor bedroom‘.
It is recommended to significantly increase your Scadutree Shard blessings for this fight and summon a Spiritual Ash will also help you if you want to finish the fight faster.
Since madness damage can deal a lot of damage, you should re-specialize to have higher stamina for more max HP
To improve resistance to madness, opt for equipment that increases your To focus. Increase your Spirit stat will also increase concentration.
Otherwise, you do your best armor that improves your defense is important, and make sure you have good stamina to be able to equip them without weighing yourself down. As Midra uses a lot of fire-based attacks, having armor with high fire resistance will also help.
How to defeat Midra, Lord of Frenzied Flames
When you first enter the boss room, Midra looks like a weak old man with a sword stuck in his head. This is a warm-up for the current boss, as he doesn’t even have a proper boss health bar displayed at the bottom of the screen. However, it can still harm you, especially he can jump on you then attack you while you are pinned to the groundwhich also causes a lot of craziness buildup.
It can also create an aura of frenzy which further increases the Madness Gauge. Otherwise, he can’t do much to you, attacking only with his bare hands, and your weapon should be perfectly capable of taking him down in a few hits.
Of course, that’s not the real fight. When you have defeated this Midra, a cutscene will follow where he removes the sword from his head, also removing his head from his shoulders in the process. In its place is a bright, burning ball of fire. This is the true Midra, Lord of Frenzied Flames.
If you wanted summon a Spiritual Ash in combat, it is now possible. If his previous phase had caused a build-up of madness somehow, use an item or spell to immediately cure any lingering madness because Midra will use frenzied flame attacks that will not only deal fire damage but also increase that madness meter even higher. If it fills up, you will take huge damage to both your health and FP, while you will also be momentarily stunned and left open.
For one of his first attacks, he will open his arms wide and release two frenzied blasts of flame towards you, although these can be dodged
After that, he will focus on more physical attacks with his sword (without Midra’s head) performing three spinning attacks towards you. Fortunately, these are only physical and can therefore be blocked.
He has another move where he flies away, floating for a moment before targeting you with a push, which you can roll away Since. However, he has a few combos of three or four hits with his sword where the final blow will end with a burst of wild flames, so it is better to to dodge this side.
These are pretty manageable, especially if you have a Spirit Ash that can take away some aggro while you wait for an opening to attack (although it can still catch you with a backswing).
What you really need to avoid is when he starts using more Frenzied Flame spells. If you manage to stagger him, he continues by levitating high into the air, then hits the ground with his fireball, creating a shock effect. huge AOE explosion. Make sure you are as far away in this room as possible to avoid both the fire damage and the madness it can inflict. Although this leaves flames burning on the ground for a while, it is actually we can return safely to attack.
From now on, however, you will have to face more and more Midra Sword attacks accompanied by frenzied flames. If you see his gun on fire outstretched, you better back off
When his health is low, his attacks become faster and at worst, he can hit you with one hit. five-hit flaming swinging sword combo. Again, having a Spirit Ash will make things a lot easier as they can assault Midra and they also seem immune to madness. With the two of you it should be much easier to defeat him, especially if you have a bleed build like he is likely to experience bleeding.
