Cipher Quests have been introduced into Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1but they actually continue at the start of Chapter 4, Season 2.
Some of these tasks are listed like all the others in Fortnite, but others are actually encrypted, and you’ll need to figure out what they ask you to do in order to earn all the rewards.
Below we have detailed how the event works, all Cipher rewards and challenges currently in Fortnite, and how to complete crypto challenges once they have been cracked.

Fortnite Uncrypted and Encrypted Cipher Quests Explained
From February 28 to Tuesday March 7, new cipher quests will be added to Fortnite every day. However, you have until Friday, March 10 – after the release of Chapter 4, Season 2 – to complete all the challenges and claim your rewards.
Most Cipher challenges are unencrypted, which means you can read them into your quest list like any other task. There are mysterious encrypted challengeshowever, this must be cracked in order to know what task you need to complete.
After completing a cryptic quest, you will unlock the next one as soon as it becomes available.
XP is earned for completing individual Cipher challenges, and you’ll also get new cosmetic rewards for completing a certain number of Cipher and Unencrypted challenges before event ends Friday, March 10.
You can try to crack the ciphers on your own, but we’ll add below what each cipher quest is when the community finds out if you want to know what they are.
Fortnite Cipher Rewards
As mentioned above, you get XP for completing individual Cipher challenges, but you’ll also unlock cosmetics for reaching certain Unencrypted and Encrypted challenge completion milestones.

You get 10,000 XP for completing every cipher task in Fortnite.

- Collect ammo from chests (100)
- Upgrade vehicles with off-road tires or cow catchers (3)
- Hit opponents with ranged weapons at 75 yards or more (5)
