The grass is always greener is one of the many challenges in King’s Fall in Destiny 2.
Totems is the first encounter inside the King’s Fall raid, which takes place after the entering and jumping ship puzzles.
This optional Destiny 2 challenge makes Totems harder to clear, but successfully completing it will spawn a second reward chest if your team, doubling the number of drops.

What is The Grass is Always Greener in Destiny 2?
The Grass is Always Greener Challenge dictates that no player can hold the same mark twice in a rowwhich means you have to switch sides every time you get the mark back.
The typical strategy at Totems is to split into two teams and each team is responsible for juggling a single brand.
However, to meet this challenge players must alternate which brand they choose, imposing a more complex rotation. If a single player catches the same mark twice in a row, the challenge fails and you must restart the totem encounter to try again.
The Festival of the Lost 2022 is here! With it comes the arrival of the Mechabre. For The Witch Queen, find out how to get Exotics including Dead Messenger and Parasite.
Tips for completing The Grass is Always Greener in Destiny 2
Totem encounters are one of the more mechanic-heavy sections of King’s Fall. The basic strategy is to split into two teams of three to cover the left and right sides of the room and alternate between holding a “mark”, laying down energy, and stealing the mark.
The requirement that no Guardian hold the same Mark twice in a row makes things more complicated, but it’s easier to achieve than it sounds. All it takes is a simple rotation change.
After depositing energy in the plate in the center of the room, a Guardian will usually cover the balcony on the same side. In place, cover the balcony on the opposite sideand join the rotation in that direction.
Where the rotation used to be two circles, it is now an eight. If everyone follows this pattern, no one will own the same brand twice and the challenge will be met.
In general, Guardians should choose weapons that focus on three things: adding light, unmovable Ogres and killing Blightguard Knights.
Players on the balcony should focus on eliminating the spawning wizard and knight as quickly as possible. Killing the pair on one side correlates to how quickly they spawn on the other side, and maintaining tight timing is key to a smooth spin. You can get a head start by attacking the wizard from the ground, while also depositing energy.
