The McGeady rotation is a skill move in FIFA 23 which a player can perform to show off, or use to complete challenges, such as the “10th goal in Ligue 1” task from the ‘Rise of Mbappe’ Moment.
There are a few caveats to using Skill Moves in FIFA 23, even with this seemingly easy one, so we’ll look at how to do the McGeady spin in general and then give a tip for doing one consistently if you try to perform challenge one for a while.

How to Do the McGeady Spin in FIFA 23
The McGeady spin is a 4-star skill move in FIFA 23, so it can only be performed by players who can do 4-star skill moves.
If you want to make sure a player can do the McGeady spin, you need to check their individual stats, then look for the number next to “Skill Moves” to see what level of skills they can perform.
When you control a player who can perform a 4-star skill move, all you need to do is flick the right stick right, then flick it down to rotate McGeady to the right.
Alternatively, you can flick the right stick left then flick it down to spin McGeady left in FIFA 23.
If this input method isn’t working for you when trying to complete the “10th Ligue 1 Objective”, or any other Moment Challenge, we’ve got some tips below that should help you fix it quickly.

How to do the McGeady spin for the ‘Rise of Mbappé’ moment
At first, the “10th Ligue 1 goal” challenge as part of the “Rise of Mbappé” moment in FIFA 23 might seem like a hassle, but it’s just that running the McGeady rotation (and other Skill Moves) to complete a while is a bit finicky. Fortunately, there is a very simple solution to accomplish this task quickly.
To spin McGeady as Mbappé, you need to follow the instructions above and flick the right thumbstick right or left, then flick it down – but you have to make sure the animation is complete for the challenge to be marked as complete
It’s easier said than done when you’re tackled by the opposing team, but just like Stepover, we’ve found it much easier to do when we took the ball on the other side of the field like Mbappé, because the other team will mostly leave you alone here. However, it can still be difficult to activate the skill move, so we also recommend turning to the top of the field and then flicking only the right stick to perform the McGeady pirouette. So no change of direction from the left joystick, nor sprint.
Flick right or left then down repeatedly without hitting any other inputs and Mbappé will soon do the McGeady spin.
When the green tick appears on the “Take a McGeady trick with Mbappé” challenge in the upper right corner of the screen, then you must score two goals as Mbappé and not concede any before time runs out to complete the moment.
Scoring two goals, however, could be buggy, as we scored two as Mbappé multiple times while replaying the Moment, but that only counted as one. To be sure, keep trying to score with Mbappé until the timer reaches zero.
You can do this in other modes to spin McGeady consistently, but the method is best used for completing challenges when it won’t affect your chances of winning or losing a match.
Hope you enjoy FIFA 23!
