Research tasks in Pokémon Legends: Arceus explained
To complete a Pokédex entry in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, you must complete enough research tasks for that species of Pokémon until you have reached research level 10.
Each Pokémon has a list of dedicated research tasks and these tasks can be anything from how many you have caught, witnessing specific moves in battle, or evolving it. Some Pokémon also have query-related research tasks, such as finding out if Drifloon really plays with children.
Some research tasks have multiple steps, allowing you to increase the research level of an entry by repeating the same activity. A common example of this is the “Number Caught” task which, for some Pokémon, can increase its wanted level at least five times.
You can check a Pokémon’s Research Tasks by visiting its page in your Pokédex and pressing Down. This brings up a list of all their associated tasks and your progress with them. Search tasks for a Pokémon can also be accessed by focusing on it in the wild and pressing Down.
Your current research level for that Pokemon can also be found at the bottom of their entry.
During the Pokédex Progress Report at the end of each investigation, you’ll review the Pokédex entries you’ve updated or completed, as well as the number of Research Tasks you’ve completed.
Our Pokémon Legends: Arceus walkthrough will guide you through this new adventure! It starts with selecting your starter Pokémon, before you’re tasked with completing the Hisui Pokédex by completing research tasks. Don’t forget to increase your star rank and also complete requests, such as the Strange Happenings at Night and Wisp locations. There are also new regional Hisui variants to nab and having save files of Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, Sword and Shield, as well as Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee will unlock additional rewards.
How to Earn Pokémon Research Points in Pokémon Legends: Arceus
Pokémon Research Points are earned by completing both Research Tasks and complete Pokédex entries in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. In turn, these points are used to increase your Star Rank within the Galaxy Expedition Team.
Your Pokémon research points are counted during your Pokédex progress review, which occurs when you complete a survey in the wild. Here you will learn how many points you earned during the survey and how close you are to reaching the next Star Rank.
The front of your Pokédex also shows how many Pokémon Research Points you’ve earned so far and includes a progress bar for your next Star Rank.
