How to get a treasure map in Fortnite
There are several ways to get a treasure map in Fortnite, but the easiest way is to visit one of the four pirates scattered around the map
However, if you are lucky, you can You can also find treasure maps in normal gold chests around the map.
How to Find Buried Treasure Chests in Fortnite
Once you have a treasure map, you can start finding buried treasure chests in Fortnite by equipping it like you would a weapon. Then, once equipped, a glowing blue arrow will appear on your screen, showing you the direction you need to go to find the treasure.
Carefully head in the indicated direction (other squads will shoot at you if they can) and once you are close to the location of the buried treasure chest, you will see a bright golden beam extending from the ground to the sky. When you see this, head towards the location it indicates.
Finally, when you find the location, a large red “X” will appear on the ground to mark the exact location of the buried treasure chest. However, your avatar will need to hold the treasure map in order to see it clearly.
Once you find the “X”, use your melee weapon to dig a hole in the center of it. The buried treasure chest will appear and all you have to do now is interact with it to open it. Be careful though, they are slower to open than other chests.
