How to get all endings in Dragon Age The Veilguard

Age, Dragon, endings, Veilguard

There are five main endings in Dragon Age: The Veilguardand a post-credits secret ending that you can trigger whichever “proper” ending you choose during the final moments of the game.

These Dragon Age: The Veilguard endings include the three main choices you have to respond to certain triggers, the best ending where (mostly) everyone survives and the worst ending where (absolutely) everyone dies.

To help you decide which one is best for you, or for those who are just curious about how the other endings played out, we’ve explained how to get all endings in Dragon Age: The Veilguard below.

Please notethis guide contains some major spoilers for all endings and some of the events leading up to the ending choice. So read at your own risk!

All Dragon Age The Veilguard endings listed

While there are technically only three main endings to choose from in The Veilguard, there are three other additional variations that can provide quite a different experience until the end of your playthrough.

Including these three additional variations, here is a list of all endings in Dragon Age: The Veilguard:

  • End of the fight against Solas.
  • End of Solas’s turn.
  • Swap Solas’ ending.
  • Secret post-credits ending.
  • The worst ending.
  • Best ending.

We have dedicated pages on how to get the secret ending and the best ending, but for more details on how to get the other four, keep reading!

You can of course fall between the best and worst ending, depending on how many of your companions and faction leaders survive the events of the finale, before you can choose between the “good” ending which decides how to handle Solas. These variations don’t really change much (except how many tears you might shed), so we don’t classify them as their own dedicated endings like we do “best” and “worst” endings.

How to complete the Solas fight in Dragon Age The Veilguard

The end of the fight with Solas sees you and your party members engaging in a small brawl with Solas to forcibly bind him to the Veil. The worst side of Solas is shown here, as he treats you as a mere mortal, while he considers himself a god.

To end the fight with Solas, choose “But I want to fight you” if you have the option. This is also the default ending that requires no additional work if you are on track to get the bad ending. However, the bad ending doesn’t go well for the team…

The “good” variation of this ending occurs when you have the choice between “But I want to fight you” and “Let’s try it your way”, and the choice occurs if you have enough companions who are Veilguard Heroes, and you have a good amount of strength with all factions. We achieved this with three stars for the Antivan Crows and Veil Jumpers, and two stars for the rest of the Factions, while all of our companions were Veilguard Heroes.

To ensure your team survives the fight against Solas, make sure to choose party members who are Veilguard heroes. However, keep in mind that this won’t matter if you’re on track to get a bad ending, because your companions die no matter what here, and Rook isn’t having a good time either .

How to get the Solas turn ending in Dragon Age The Veilguard

Solas’ ending allows you to give the Dread Wolf a taste of his own deceptive medicine, handing him the fake lyrium dagger instead of the real one, then using the real one to forcibly bind him to the Veil. It’s a pretty poetic way to beat Solas, and he even admits that he “taught you well” and finally met his match.

To get the Solas trick ending, choose “Let’s try this your way” when given the option. Just like the good variation of Solas’ end of the fight, you need to have enough companions who are Veilguard Heroes and have a good amount of Faction Strength with all Factions.

We managed to achieve this ending with three stars for the Antivan Crows and Veil Jumpers, and two stars for the rest of the Factions, while all of our companions were Veilguard Heroes.

How to Get Solas’ Redemption Ending in Dragon Age The Veilguard

We consider Solas’ redemption ending to be the default “best” ending, as Solas chooses to do the right thing and bond with the Veil through a conversation Morrigan initiates between Solas and a fragment of Mythal. If you created an Elf Inquisitor who was romantically involved with Solas in Dragon Age: Inquisition, then she will join Solas in the Veil, probably for eternity. Is that… nice?

To get the end of Solas’ exchange, choose “More” on the dialogue wheel, then “You don’t have to do this.” This option only appears if you have completed the Dreadwolf’s Regrets side quest. For help unlocking the secret ending, you should also convince Mythal to give you her essence with Mythal’s correct answers instead of fighting her, as she helps you in a fight at the end of the Heart of Heart side quest. corruption if you don’t. fight it.

How to get the worst ending in Dragon Age The Veilguard

The worst ending of Dragon Age: The Veilguard occurs when all your companions die at the end of the game and Rook is Veilbound with Solas. You don’t have a choice to cheat Solas or buy him out, as your Rook automatically tries to fight Solas instead. Bellara or Neve will die in the Blight tentacles, and both members of your party will be petrified and killed by Solas while helping Rook fight him.

To get the worst ending, you have to pass the point of no return with almost no companions as a Veilguard hero and very little faction strength. Preferably, you should have no companions as a Veilguard Hero and a Force star with all Factions. Although we were still able to get the bad ending with two companions as Veilguard heroes (Taash and Harding) and three Force stars with one faction, but most of the others only had one star .

We also recommend making the worst choices during the main quests “The Last Gambit” and “The Dread Wolf Rises”.

Here is the worst choices to choose during ‘The Last Gambit’:

  • Do not send Emmrich, Bellara or Neve to help the Veil Jumpers.
  • Don’t send Lucanis to help the Antivan Crows.
  • Do not send Davrin or Taash to help the Gray Wardens.

From the available options, don’t choose someone who is a Veilguard hero.

Here is the worst choices to choose during ‘The Dread Wolf Rises’:

  • Don’t send Davrin or Taash to help the other team (choose someone else who isn’t a hero).
  • Do not choose two companions who are “Veilguard Heroes” to be in your party.

You’ll know you’re on track for a bad ending if you see items from your fallen companions in the optional room where you can “Honor the Dead” in the main quest “One Last Breath.”

Congratulations! You killed everyone and received a disappointed sigh from Morrigan and a reprimand from the game for your efforts. I hope you are happy.
