Explanation of dead space security permission levels
Encountering locked doors and containers that require a higher level of clearance at the start of your journey on the Ishimura can be frustrating, especially if you’re low on resources.
The good news is that you didn’t accidentally miss anything, because you have to move forward in the story
It’s annoying if you spot a cool upgrade or resources in a room, but it’s worth noting that you’ll almost always return to an area. This means that you don’t have to go back when you increase your permission level until the story takes you back.
There are a few exceptions though, so if you find you’ve filled the entire map of an area but there are still a security clearance level door or two you haven’t opened, you’ll want to maybe back in between story beats.
Master Override is different from Clearance Level because you don’t get it as part of the story. Instead, you need to collect seven platforms as part of the “You’re Not Allowed” side quest. Once you find all the rigs, you can then combine the data to get Master Override and access more locked rooms and containers.
The Dead Space remake brings back the Hunter and Leviathan bosses, as well as the Centrifuge puzzle. New additions include security clearance levels, weapon slots, and revised trophies and achievements.
How to Get Security Clearance Levels in Dead Space
There are three levels of security clearance to find in Dead Space.
