Vocation Frustration Walkthrough for Dragon’s Dogma 2
To unlock the Sorcerer and Warrior Vocations in Dragon’s Dogma 2, you must first complete the Vocation Frustration quest, and to begin with, you must visit the Vocations Guild in Vernworth. If you can’t find it, head to the Vernworth Fountain and look to the right of the tavern.
Once there, they talk to the man behind the desk, also known as Klaus, and he will eventually mention that the guild is not able to accept registrations from warriors or wizards. All this is due to the lack of archastaves (necessary for wizards) and broadswords (necessary for warriors) in the guild.
As he leaves, Klaus will mention that the guild gets its weapons from Roderick who runs the local armory and with that the vocation frustration will begin!
The Vernworth Armory is easy to find as it is simply across Fountain Square. Talk to Roderick – the man who runs the store – when you arrive and he will mention that goblins stole the weapons. To find the goblin’s lair, you will need to venture west of Vernworth.
Goblin’s Lair Location: How to Find Trevo Mine in Dragon’s Dogma 2
The Goblin’s Lair is actually the Trevo Mine, which is located west of Vernworth in Dragon’s Dogma 2. The easiest way to reach this location is to cross the bridge west of Vernworth and continue following the paths westward until reaching the mine.
If you are low level, we recommend going to the mine during the day as goblin battles await you. Yet we also have a guide on how to survive the night if you can’t wait.
It is also important to note that there are multiple entrances to the Trevo Mine. However, you will want to head towards the southern entrance, as this will make it easier to find the Greatsword and Archistal.
It shouldn’t take you very long to reach the Trevo Mine. Well, if you don’t encounter any monsters or other quests on the way, that’s… Just make sure to continue following the path west, and after crossing the river, take the northern path when you reach the fork in the road. You then just need to take the first path on the left to reach the mine.
Fortunately, the Trevo Mine location will be marked on your map if you have Vocation Frustration set as your main quest. This may come in handy if you haven’t ventured west of Vernworth yet.
Finally, Trevo Mine is also one of the locations you need to visit for the Monster Culling quest. If you have already unlocked this quest, you may want to consider staying and completing this section before returning to Vernworth.
Greatsword location in Dragon’s Dogma 2
Let’s start our Trevo Mine hunt by finding the Greatsword location in Dragon’s Dogma 2. It’s important to note that you can simply find this weapon if you just want to unlock the Warrior Vocation, but we recommend also find the archistaff to save. time since you will have to find it anyway if you want to use the Wizard Vocation later.
Again, we recommend entering Trevo Mine through its southern entrance and the following instructions come from said entrance. You can still enter the mine through a different entrance but the path you take to get to the swordfish will be different.
Upon entering the mine, you will first need to light your lantern to be able to actually see. You will also need to prepare to face any goblins who may decide to attack you. Although there are open areas in the mines, most of the tunnels are quite narrow, so be prepared for some close quarters combat.
Then you will have to continue through the tunnel until you reach the first fork in the road. Here you will want to take the right path.
Continue on this path until you reach an open area containing a number of goblins. Send them to the afterlife before opening the chest found in the upper right corner: it’s near a large rock and is lit by a handy broken torch. Congratulations! You found the greatsword!
Archistaff location in Dragon’s Dogma 2
To find the Archistaff in Dragon’s Dogma 2, you need to take the left path from the area where you found the Greatsword in Trevo Mine. This path goes downhill, and along the way you’ll find yourself facing a horde of goblins.
Once all the monsters are dead in this lower part, find the torch surrounded by a pile of bones. Just beyond this point you will find a small gap in the wall that you can pass through.
Follow this little path and you will find the archistaff!
You are now free to leave the Trevo Mine, but if you haven’t already done so, you may need to complete its section of the Monster Culling quest before leaving.
