How to Get Free Stellar Jade in Honkai Star Rail
Although there are several methods to buy Stellar Jade with real money from Honkai: Star Rail’s in-game store, there are many ways to farm them to attract characters, such as Seele. It’s important to keep in mind that the free play methods require you to save your Stellar Jade, as it’s not a quick path to a bag full of them.
Below are the methods you can use to get free Stellar Jade in Honkai: Star Rail:
- Complete missions – One of your main sources of free Stellar Jades is in-game quests. Honkai: Star Rail has main quests, called Trailblaze Missions, in which you follow the game’s central narrative and Adventure Missions, which are a type of side quests. After completing each mission, you earn 10 to 80 Star Jade. Once per day, you can also complete a Daily Mission which gives you 60 Star Jades.
- Participate in time-limited events – Believe it or not, Hoyoverse constantly offers free Stellar Jades during a patch. There are the special and seasonal events that Hoyoverse prepares which are short sequences of quests or mini-games that reward you with Stellar Jades.
- Claim Codes – There are special codes that Hoyoverse provides that you can claim in-game and receive certain amount of Stellar Jades. Usually these codes give you around 100 Stellar Jades each and they are valid for a specific period of time, so you should check the Honkai: Star Rail codes that are still up.
- Opening of chests – By exploring space stations or new planets, you will find treasures. There are regulars and precious treasures. Both will reward you with Stellar Jade when opened. The difference is that valuable treasures are guarded by powerful enemies.
- Buy in stores around the world – In each world you visit, there is a special type of NPC that sells items for that world’s currency (eg Shield in Belobog), and they are called World Shops. You can claim rewards after spending a certain amount of money with these NPCs and among the prizes you will find Stellar Jades.
- Operation briefing – Honaki Star Rail has a system of missions in the Operation Briefing menu which are meant to help you through the early stages of the game as well as exploring its systems. Some missions require you to level up a character to a specific level while others are completed after purchasing an item from the World Shop. After completing a certain number of these missions, you will receive a reward and most of the time you will earn Stellar Jades.
- Pioneer levels – As you progress through Trailblaze missions, complete adventure missions and many other in-game events, you earn experience points which increase your Trailblaze level. Every time you level up, you can teleport to Parlor Car and talk to Pom-Pom to claim the rewards. Just keep in mind that Stellar Jades are given as a reward for certain levels.
- Achievements – Whenever you complete an achievement, you can access the achievement menu on your phone and claim the Stellar Jade. Each achievement gives you 5 to 20 Stellar Jade.
- Tutorials – In order to reward you for reading the explanation of a new mechanic, event or system, Honkai: Star Rail rewards you with 1 Stellar Jade for each tutorial. It’s not much but it’s still free!
- Complete a 5-Star Character Trial – When a new banner starts, the game gives players the opportunity to play with the new character a bit and test their kit. After completing the 5-star character trial, you earn some Stellar Jade which is claimed in the same menu where you start the trial.
- Mail characters – From time to time, characters send you messages, and some of them, after you finish the short conversation, might give you some Stellar Jades.
- Simulated universe – The simulated universe works as a series of missions that you can complete and in doing so you earn points. As you complete missions, your score will unlock weekly rewards, ranging from materials to upgrading Relics to Stellar Jades.
- daily training – With this system, you have the opportunity to complete a few quick missions that can reward you with Stellar Jades. The list of missions is refreshed daily, so going through them each day you play the game is a good idea.
While none of these methods guarantee a huge amount of Stellar Jade, you can end up with enough for ten draws or more during a Banner just by logging in regularly and doing most of these activities.

What can you use Stellar Jade for in Honkai Star Rail?
In Honkai: Star Rail, Stellar Jades are the currency you need to purchase the Star Rail Special Pass and Star Rail Pass. Each of them costs 160 Stellar Jade.
Both of these are necessary if you want to use the game’s Warp system, where you’re trying to get under one of three running banners. The game still has a regular chain, a character event chain, and a Light Cone event chain. In the first you need a Star Rail Pass to pull a character, while in the other two you need to use the Star Rail Special Pass.
You can also use Stellar Jade to replenish your Trailblaze Power, the energy you need to participate in certain activities, like completing Calyx. Although Trailblaze Power is received automatically, it takes several hours to restore it to its full which is 180. For this reason, some players are considering using their Stellar Jades to speed up this process.
It’s best to save your Stellar Jade to buy the Star Rail Special Pass, since it’s the one used to pull characters under banners that last about three weeks. In the Character Event Wap, you have a very short window to shoot for a specific character that can take quite a while before being in one of the in-game banners again.
On the other hand, Star Rail Passes are more frequently given out for free by the game as in the free version of the battle pass of the game Nameless Honor. So you can go for the Regular Warp without spending Stellar Jades to buy its pass.
Have a great time playing Honkai: Star Rail and save the free Jade Stellars to get awesome 5-star characters!
