Madrigal of Mirabel arrived in Dream Light Valley, well, almost happened. Her house protected her from Oblivion but that means she disappeared from the valley! Now it’s up to you to bring her and her home back.
There are a few steps you need to take to bring Mirabel back to your Dreamlight Valley, but we highly recommend making space in an area of the map. The Mini-Casita is an extremely large house, so it takes up a lot of space when you get it.
Without further ado, we’ll show you how to get to Mirabel in Dreamlight Valley.
How to get to Mirabel in Disney Dreamlight Valley
To get Mirabel in Dreamlight Valley, you need to look for a Golden Doorknob. We found ours at Peaceful Meadow.
Once you find and pick it up, it will start the quest “The Golden Doorknob” and that’s the start of your adventure to get Mirabel.
Step One – Talk to Merlin
After finding the doorknob, go talk to Merlin. He will inform you that the object belongs to Mirabel but that her house, the Mini-Casita, disappeared to protect her once the Oblivion began to worsen.
He will then inform you that you need to show the Mini-Casita that the Valley is safe enough for her to return to. He’ll give you three tasks to complete, and luckily they’re pretty simple.
You can do these tasks in any order, but we’ve found this order to be the fastest way to complete the quest:
- Take photos with three different villagers
- Give two different villagers their favorite gifts
- Have daily chats with two different villagers
Second step – Take pictures with the villagers
When you find a villager you want to take a picture with, approach them and open your gear wheel. Then select the camera icon and the photo menu will appear.
You can change your poses, use filters and do whatever you want on the image. The only rule is that you must click “Capture” for the image to register for the quest.
You must repeat this step with three different villagers, you cannot take the picture with the same villager three times.

Step Two – Give Villagers Their Favorite Gifts
The next step is to find and give two villagers their favorite gifts. You can easily find out what their favorite gifts are.
Open your “Collections” menu and select “Characters”. Then hover over the villager you think you’re giving a gift to and look at the bottom of your screen.
In the bottom right corner of the screen, you should see a “Favorite Things of the Day” section. This shows you the three items that this villager ranks as their favorite for the day and if you give them any of these three items as a gift, it will be recorded as a “favorite gift”.
Repeat this twice to complete this part of the quest.
Step Three – Have Daily Discussions
Yes, all you have to do now is talk to two villagers! Daily Chats is the voice option that appears next to the little speech bubble icon that appears when talking to a villager.
In the image above, it’s the ‘Do you have a question Ariel?’ option.
Step Four – Talk to Merlin again and gather Dreamlight
Now you need to go back and talk to Merlin again. It will then tell you that the doorknob needs Dreamlight. You will need to bring Merlin 500 Dreamlight before you can progress.
Last step – Welcome to Mirabel!
Give the Dreamlight to Merlin and he will inform you that the Mini-Casita has decided to return. Now you need to find a place to put Mirabel’s house.
Go to your “Furniture” menu and click on the Merlin icon in the “Requests” section. Next, click on the “Mini-Casita” building and place it in the desired location.
In terms of villager houses, this one is quite large but we found a place for it in the Peaceful Meadow.
Once the house has been dismantled, you can welcome Mirabel to your valley!
Now is the time for you to talk to hopefully the first member of the Madrigal family.
