What is Griddy?
The Griddy is a dance and athletic celebration where you do a sort of jump forward with the backs of your heels while swinging your arms back and forth, then bringing your fingers up to your eyes to form a shape similar to glasses.
Although it is now primarily associated with everyone in sports, Fortnite videos, and TikTok, the Griddy is a dance originally created by Allen Davis, whose nickname is “Griddy.” Davis was a high school football player when he created the dance and uploaded it to YouTube.
What followed next was a domino effect of jumping and arm swinging across the NFL, as Davis showed the dance to his friend and future Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase, who himself introduced to fellow receiver Justin Jefferson.

Chase and Jefferson did the Griddy while playing in the NFL, and the rest is viral sensation history.
Returning to football, since FIFA 23 the Griddy is also available for use as a celebration in FIFA and FC games.
