How to make money in Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth
There are many ways to make money in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, but we highly recommend waiting until you get to Hawaii before putting too much effort into making money. This is because you will spend most of your time here and the yen to dollar conversion rate is not very useful at first.
Once you’re in Hawaii, we’ve found that here are the best ways to make money fast in Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth:
Selling Items at Pawn Shops
In Hawaii, there are several Treasure Select Pawn stores scattered throughout.
Here are all the addresses of pawnbrokers in Hawaii:
- Chinese district – In Kolonahe Street.
- Anaconda – Inside the Anaconda Shopping Center on Harbor Street.
- River Street – On River Street, northeast of Aloha Bridge.
- Hula Bird – On Hula Avenue, next to Julie’s Gearworks.
Here you can sell items that you have accumulated throughout your adventures, such as extra pieces of equipment or random silver plates that you found during a treasure hunt.
Remember, for the scavenger hunt, head to any area that has a yellow circle on the ground and interact with it. You might find something worth a lot of money, scrap metal to make better weapons or generic junk.
High-quality (three-star) equipment, weapons, and items tend to fetch the highest prices in Hawaii. For example, our Madame Visor sold for just over $40.00 and we had an item that revived an ally with full HP and MP for $100.00.
Unloading extra equipment and unwanted items at a pawn shop is a surefire way to turn a quick profit.
Engage in battles with multiple high-level or same-level enemies
Being bold and taking on a group of enemies that are the same level as your team or higher is a good way to earn money and potentially get killed too. This method of earning money is slightly risky, but if you are confident in your combat prowess and have plenty of HP-boosting items in your pockets, you can often get substantial amounts of money for winning.
Using Smackdowns
Speaking of battles, what do you think of fights where you don’t have to do anything at all? Well no ? This is exactly what Smackdowns are (we unlocked this ability around Chapter 5 when our crew was all level 20+).
If you see enemies with a blue marker above their head, you can fight them via a Smackdown. That’s when you press the requested command on your screen (on PS5 it was L2) to have Ichibian and company fight for you. You don’t have to do anything and there’s no chance you’ll lose.
Often the enemies you’ll be able to fight in a Smackdown will be of a much lower level than you, so the payoff isn’t as great as our previous recommendation – but being able to earn money without doing anything is worth it. Plus, Smackdowns are fast-paced, so you can easily win $100 in just a few minutes.
Make the chapters of history
It can be tempting to head out and explore everything that Hawaii has to offer, but if you work your way through the story chapters, you’ll be rewarded with big bucks. In one of the chapters we earned almost $1,000 just by playing it and completing the fights in it.
If you want to take your time playing Infinite Wealth, we still recommend playing through to Chapter 5, as this will give you a lot of money and unlock most of Hawaii for you as well.
Do the substory quests
If the main story is something you want to preserve and respect, you can still (and should) do the various side story quests around Hawaii. Some of them won’t reward you with a lot of money, but the ones that involve fighting will give you a lot of money to hide.
Visit Dondoko Island
Once you have unlocked Dondoko Island, we highly recommend spending a lot of time there playing the different missions and tasks offered in order to transform this rundown paradise into a five-star resort that everyone wants to experience.
You can convert any Dodobucks (the island’s currency) into real cash for Kasuga to use in Hawaii. Every time you increase the island’s rating, you will be rewarded with money and you can even get £300,000 for reaching five-star level!
How to save money in Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth
Now, collecting money is all well and good, but if an enemy kills you (and for a few subplots), you could potentially lose all your winnings! It’s not a pleasant feeling at all, but there is a way to avoid this heartbreak.
To save money in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, you must find an ATM to deposit your money. Here are all the ATM locations in Hawaii:
- Rue Kolonahé – Next to the treasure selection token.
- Seaside Avenue – Just south of the Kiryu Hotel.
- Hula Avenue – Exterior treasure selection token.
- Fuji Street – Opposite rotating bar.
To deposit money at an ATM, you simply go there and interact with it. Next, select the “Cash Deposit” option and use the dial to choose how much of your money you want to save there.
