And even Pokmon from the Game Boy Advance era.

Pokmon Home The latest version of the online deposit box for your Pokmon – an app that launched many years ago in Game Boy Color and Pokmon Silver and Gold & # 39; s Time Capsule, and went to Pokmon Bank most recently on 3DS.

Or designed to work easily with modern Pokmon games on the switch (and finally, Pokmon Go) and support Pokmon from previous generations for some reason to carefully plan for Pokmon Bank.

Although your Pokmon from the original Game Boy cartridges is unfortunately not limited (unless, of course, you play Virtual Console versions) it is possible to take Pokmon from Game Boy Advance all the way to the Sword and Shield.

Most likely, though, you'll just want to know how to transfer Pokmon from Sword and Shield and Let Go to Pokmon Home – this page is also descriptive.

If you are looking for more information about the entire Pokmon Home, from features to pricing, our defined Pokmon Home page can help.

All you need to know about transferring Pokmon to and from Pokmon Home

Before we get started, Here are some basics about transferring Pokmon to – and from – Pokmon Home.

  • Although Pokmon Home can transfer Pokmon all the way from the Game Boy Advance era a bit by editing, it's worth noting games that are directly related to Pokmon Home ahead of time, which you can see just by looking at this picture (with Pokmon Go coming the next day):

  • As the photo shows, Pokmon Sword and Shield is the only game that allows transfers to and from Pokmon Home. The only exception is Let Go, which can be moved between different versions of Let Go and Home, but once it's in Sword and Shield, it can't be used in Let Go again.
  • As for everything else, it's one way to go – so you have to make sure you want to pass it first, because there is no turning back.
  • There are some limits to what can be transferred. For example, only Pokmon available in Sword and Shield Pokdex can be deployed in those games, while Pokmon in your current team in any game can be delivered at Home or Bank until you push it to the box.
  • If you want to transfer Pokmon, you need Pokmon Home software on Nintendo Switch. The iOS and Pokemon Home app does not support any transfers – the first purpose is to look at your collected Pokmon, and then trade directly with other Pokmon Home players (the latter cannot be done on a switch).

  • Although Pokmon Bank is free until March 12, 2020 with the introduction of Pokmon Home, you still need to have a Primmon Home in Pokmon Home to complete the last transfer from Bank to Home. It's a little ridiculous, and yet it's a worthless offer if you want to get it all out.
  • Pokmon Home links each service (as well as Nintendo Swap and mobile apps) with your Nintendo Account, so everything – from your Pokmon saves to your Pokmon Home log – needs to be from the same ID to transmit more.

It's as simple as that, though there are some additional restrictions in place:

How to transfer Pokmon from 3DS games via Pokmon Bank

Transferring Pokmon to 3DS games – such as X and Y, Omega Ruby and Alfa Sapphire, Sun and Moon, Ultra Sun and Moon – requires the use of Pokmon Bank on 3DS, as well as Pokmon Home access on the switch during the navigation process.

First, get Pokmon Bank on the 3DS. If you're like us and haven't used your 3DS in a while, make sure the system firmware is up to date, allowing you to download it.

If you do this within the free window of Pokmon Bank, you will receive an offer notification within the program menu, which contains direct link to the Pokmon Bank listing on the eShop. Alternatively, head to the Pokmon Shop in the Shop to find Pokmon Bank there.

Next, be sure to remove all the Pokmon you want from supported games to Pokmon Bank. (To allow for a few transfers only – anything other than a 3DS Pokmon game needs another step to explain in the next section.)

To move Pokmon from the 3DS game to Pokmon Bank, select the highest option from the main menu. From there, this works just as well as does Pokmon at Home – by scanning the stored files locally, then letting you access them by dragging and dropping Pokmon in the middle of the box from the last file in Pokmon Bank.

When your desired Pokmon is in Pokmon Bank, then select & # 39; Move Pokmon to Pokmon Home & # 39; in the main menu. After a warning about a one-time trip, select the Pokmon boxes you want to cross.

Now, you need the navigation key.

This is where Pokmon Home comes into the switch. From the main menu, there are four icons near the bottom right. Choose one 3DS called & # 39; Home & # 39;

Note – you need a Premium Home subscription to use this, or during a free banking promotion during the launch of Pokmon Home.

Once you have signed up for Primary Home, select & # 39; Start Move & # 39 ;, and agree that Pokmon Home will be available during the process.

The navigation key will be displayed. This expires in about three minutes, so your 3DS is ready to code.

Once you have entered this code into the 3DS, two apps will be paired and will be reset. As we have been warned, you may not use Pokmon Home until this pass is completed – you will be notified very soon about the message & # 39; Travel in progress & # 39; now.

When enough time has passed (for us it was just seconds – even if we tested one Pokmon in one box!) The next time you enter Pokmon Home in Turnch you can complete the transfer by choosing how to bring the bank boxes across.

Finally – your Bank Pokmon is home!

How to move Pokmon from Black and White games with Virtual Console using Pokmon Transporter

There are a few Pokmon 3DS Pokemon games that are played on the 3DS that can be transferred to Pokmon Bank, and then, Pokmon Home. These are:

  • Pokmon Black and white
  • Pokmon Black and White 2
  • Pokmon Red, Blue and Yellow (3DS Virtual Console)
  • Pokmon Gold and Silver (3DS Virtual Console)
1

To do this, you'll need to use the Pok Transporter app. This comes bundled free with your subscription to Pokmon Bank, and as Bank accesses your 3DS home screen just like you would a regular game. You can find it inside the 3DS eShop – or via a shortcut from Pokmon Bank's main menu.

Once you have downloaded Pok Transporter, you should:

  1. Open your copy of the game you want to transfer from, and fill in the first box on your game PC with only the Pokmon you want to transfer.
  2. Open the Pok Transporter app, and use it to transfer all Pokmon from the first box through to the Pokmon Bank transfer box.
  3. Go to the Pokmon Bank app now, and transfer those Pokmon to the transfer box to the other Pokmon Bank boxes of your choice.
  4. Make sure the transfer box is empty before repeating the process, to avoid unwanted problems!
  5. Use Pokmon Bank to transfer these Pokmon to Pokmon Home (or if you prefer, move them to 3DS supported games within the Bank if you want to use them first!)

So what if you want to go back a lot?

How to move Pokmon from Game Boy Advance and DS Pokmon games to Pokmon Home

Although not officially supported by Pokmon Bank or Pokmon Home, it is possible to get creatures from other games in the series, such as Ruby and Sapphire or Diamond and Pearl, to modern games.

The following games require the most widely accepted process for transferring Pokmon to Pokmon Bank and beyond. Also, be aware that all of this is transmitted in only one way – which means you can't make this Pokmon return to its original games once it's transferred.

Here is some support from older generations:

2
  • Type 1: Pokmon Red, Blue, and Yellow (physical, invisible versions) – it is impossible
  • Gen 2: Pokmon Gold, Silver, Crystal – it is impossible
  • Gen 3: Pokmon Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, FireRed, LeafGreen – transfer to Black and White or Black 2 and White 2, and use Pok Transporter (see section above) to transfer to Pokmon Bank.
  • Genesis 4: Pokmon Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold and SoulSilver – transfer to Black and White or Black 2 and White 2, and use Pok Transporter (see section above) to transfer to Pokmon Bank.

Pokmon from the first games, supported by carpet from the first and second generation games, unfortunately, is impossible to pass on to Generation 2.

From Generation 3 on, it's possible, and thankfully that includes games genres like FireRed and HeartGold, which go back to the beginning.

Virtual Console models of Red, Blue and Yellow – and Gold and Silver – are also supported by the Pokmon Transporter.

Some things to know about Pokmon Bank and Pokmon Home

The steps above are broad strokes on how to move Pokmon from previous generations all the way to Bank and Home. Here are some additional considerations to note:

ditto1
Before Red, Blue, and Yellow …
  • When transferring creatures from the Virtual Console types of Red, Blue and Yellow, stats like Ability, Nature, Special Attack and Special Protection will be added.
  • Items cannot be carried through Pokmon Bank – if you try to do it, the item you carry will be sent to the first game.
  • Remember, any transfer from the old generation to the new one one way – including Pokemon from Gen 6 – X and Y, Omega Ruby and Alfa Sapphire – so download smartly.
ditto2
… and afterwards in the Sun and the Moon.
  • Pokmon Bank is a premium service, which costs $ 4.49 / € 4.99 per year, if you use it in addition to the free trial period with the introduction of Pokmon Home. If your subscription expires, you can still issue your Pokmon – however for a limited time. here are the official messages:

"If your exam passes or year after year and you do not purchase a new pass, you can still withdraw your Pokmon from the Pokmon Bank for a specified period of time. However, when that period expires, any Pokmon remaining in your Pokmon. Bank boxes will be lost. Be sure to withdraw -Your Pokmon has been put in place, or you have bought a new passport for the year. "

  • As for Pokmon Home, as there is a free basic version, it is expected that if your premium purchase expires, all Pokmon will still be available.
