How to tame a wolf in Fortnite
The first step to taming a wolf in Fortnite is to find one. Epic recently reduced wolf spawns drastically, so finding one can be tricky. If you want tips on finding one, head over to our Fortnite pet locations guide. As a general rule, look in the wide, open areas between named locations and the woods. The areas around the Citadel and Breakwater Bay are great places to visit.
Once you find a wolf, you have two options. The first, and easiest, is to jump on its back. Just start running and jumping. Land directly on his back and you’ll start riding him. You will know the wolf is tamed because it will have hearts around its face. The wolf will now follow you everywhere, attacking structures and enemies. Wolves have a health bar, which means other players can kill them, even while you’re riding one.
The other method is to feed the wolf meat. You get meat by killing birds, boars, wolves, chickens and frogs. Once you have meat in your inventory, just throw it on the ground near a wolf. He will eat the meat and you will see hearts around his face. The wolf is now tamed.

Tips on Using Wolves in Fortnite
Wolves are a major asset in Fortnite, mainly because you can ride them. Just jump on a wolf’s back and you’ll start riding. By pressing the sprint button, the wolf will sprint quickly. By doing this, the wolf’s stamina will decrease. If you want to regain stamina, feed him more meat. Wolves can be used to quickly traverse the map and offer more mobility than vehicles.
One thing to keep in mind is that once you’ve tamed a wolf, it will follow you until it dies, or you do. Wolves are noisy and tend to break down structures when in named places. If you like to play stealth, it’s best to go without a wolf, as they can easily reveal your location. The upside to this is that the wolves will distract and attack the enemies you’re fighting. When riding a wolf, enemies will tend to shoot the wolf while aiming at you. Wolves can take damage for you in this scenario, giving you time to reposition and fight back.
