Cooking in the Howling Waves is how you can create dishes that your Resonators can consume to gain specific bonuses, stat boosts, and upgrades as you explore the world around you.
As with many things you can do to stay alive in Wuthering Waves, cooking requires a bit of work as you need to collect most of the ingredients while you explore the overworld. However, certain ingredients will need to be prepared at a cooking location in order to cook certain dishes.
With this in mind, here is everything you need to know about cooking in Wuthering Waves And where you can cook.

Howling Waves Cuisine
You can cook at any cooking station in Wuthering Waves. When you find one, approach it to interact with it and open the Cooking menu.
There are two tabs for you to navigate this menu:
- Making dishes – This allows you to prepare fully formed dishes and foods that provide bonus effects, boosts, and other improvements.
- Ingredients – It involves preparing specific ingredients needed to cook other dishes and these are often things you can’t find in the outside world.
However, some recipes will ask you to perform specific tasks like talking to certain NPCs to determine what the specific ingredients are. You can tell if you need to do this by hovering over a dish or ingredient that has a padlock on it. A menu will appear on the right side of the screen which will give you the details of your chosen item and, if any, the unlock conditions for it.
If you already know the ingredients or items needed for the food item you selected, the required ingredients will be listed under the item description on the same menu.
Then, if you have everything you need in your inventory, you can follow the “Cook” prompt to create your chosen food item and it will automatically be inserted into your inventory. You can also adjust the amount of each item you’re making using the slider just above this prompt, although this will depend on how much of each required ingredient you have on you.
Additionally, if you cook as a specific Resonator, you can get a bonus when cooking certain dishes. For example, Lingyang can make a special dish if selected for Jinzhou skewers, and Jiyan can do so if you select it for Jinzhou stew.
There will be times when searching for a specific ingredient won’t work for you, so you can always visit a grocer to buy ingredients two. The grocer in Jinzhou is called Mahé and we have marked his store icon on the map below for you:
The more you cook in Wuthering Waves, the more skills you will gain.. You need skill to be able to get promoted, which essentially increases your leader level. There are five leader levels you can achieve:
- Apprentice
- Kitchen assistant
- Sous Chef
- Chef
- Best boss
You can check your current chef level by selecting the “Chef Level” option at the top of the cooking menu on the right side of the screen.
This will open your boss level screen which will show you your current level, the skill level you have collected, how close you are to your next level and the rewards you will get for achieving this promotion.
However, sometimes you won’t feel like cooking, so you can always visit places like Pangua’s Restaurant in Jinzhou to enjoy dishes already cooked for you!
Cooking places in Wuthering Waves
You can cook at Cooking station at Panhua Restaurant in Jinzhou. Anywhere you can cook or get food will be marked with a cutlery icon – we’ve marked this specific icon and location on the map below for you:
If you’re not sure if you’ve found one, when you approach a cooking station, the words “Kitchen” and the same cutlery icon you find on the map will float above it.
