World Pal is a monster-catching action-adventure survival game and is currently in Early Access on Steam and Xbox Game Pass. You’re literally thrown into a world filled with dangerous yet cute creatures that you can befriend, fight, and capture as you seek to survive the perils the environment throws at you.
The first few hours of Palworld can be quite intimidating, especially since you only have a few basic tools at your disposal and a world that is basically one big question mark. Nothing has been explored, all the buddies are new to you, and human enemies lurk in the shadows.
Do not be afraid ! We are here with our Practical Beginner Tips and Tricks for Palworld and we listed all our guides here in one place to help you.

Palworld Beginner Tips and Tricks
Here’s a list of our handy beginner tips and tricks for Palworld, including how to power up your buddies and why it’s worth building more than one base.
Check and adjust world settings
When you first create your world (and before entering it each time you log in), you can adjust the world settings to your liking. As long as you have “Custom” selected in the difficulty settings, you can change the amount of EXP you can earn if you drop all of your items when you die, as well as many other small gameplay elements that can change the how the game works for you. .
If this is your first time playing Palworld, we highly recommend turning off the setting where you drop all your items when you die.
Focus on upgrading
Your character’s level, your base level, and the level of your team’s buddies are all important factors in Palworld. The higher your base level, the more bases you can build across the world. The higher your level and that of your team of buddies, the easier it will be to take on tougher, bigger, and more impressive enemies (including boss-level buddies like Jetragon).
Additionally, you need to make sure your level matches that of your friends, otherwise it can be difficult to command them in battle.
Essentially, leveling up all of these things will make your time in Palworld smoother and you’ll find that more opportunities become available to you.
Build a base near rich resources
Speaking of bases, we highly recommend building a base when you find extremely rich resource deposits. Not only will this make the journey to the rich resource much easier, but it also means you can mine the deposits without much effort.
Coal, ore, stone, and sulfur are all useful resources but very heavy to transport to your base of operations. So if you build a base near a large spawn area of one of these materials, it will be much easier for you to collect them.
Accumulate resources and materials
While we’re talking about resources, you need to build multiple storage facilities in your base(s) to store all the resources you collect. Even if it seems like a resource (like a Pal Soul) isn’t of much use to you at the moment you find it, it will become important later.
Therefore, don’t throw anything away unless you have to and accumulate everything you find. The only exception is that if the street vendor comes to visit us and offers to buy things at a good price, you can sell them.
Collect multiple types of buddies
There are a variety of buddy types to obtain in Palworld, including Fire-types, Water-types, and Dark-types. Each type of buddy has its own characteristics and power balance (this is unique to each buddy). It’s important to capture many different types of buddies so you can create a team suited to the type of enemy you’re going to face.
For example, if you know you’re going to fight strong Fire-types on Obsidian Mountain, you need to make sure you have a few strong Water-type friends on your team, since that’s their weakness.
Additionally, you get a big EXP bonus if you capture 10 friends of the same type, and you can sell the ones you decide you don’t want anymore. There’s really no downside to this one.
Use Statues of Power
Let’s talk about statues of power for a moment. You’ll usually find them in abandoned churches around the map and you can interact with them to improve your friend’s stats or your own. To improve Pal’s stats, you will need Pal Souls (you were told they would be useful). To improve your own stats, you will need to collect small glowing figurines that you find during your exploration.
When you reach level six, you can unlock the recipe for a Statue of Power from your tech tree and build it in any of your bases.
To build a Statue of Power, you will need:
- x20 Stone
- x10 paldium fragments
Create Weather Resistant Outfits/Armor
It’s a big world to explore, and you’ll encounter many different weather systems/environments. Some will present you with extreme heat, others with extreme cold and there are even a few who have both! This is why we recommend creating a heat and cold resistant outfit or piece of armor as soon as possible. They will protect you as much as possible while you explore.
Unlock high-level weapons
Weapons are what keep you alive in Palworld. Many wild friends and people across the world are not happy that you are there to interrupt their peace or well-laid plans. Either way, whether it’s to beat Syndicate Thugs or weaken a buddy enough to catch him, you’ll need weapons.
Your base weapons work well for a while, but we highly recommend taking the time to unlock higher-tier weapon recipes in your tech tree. The better your weapon and the more variety of weapons you have to choose from, the easier it will be to survive the challenges that await you.
Unlock Fast Travel Points
As we said earlier, the world you can explore in Palworld is currently huge and it takes a while to wander through it. As you venture to new locations, you should come across fast travel points (eagle statues) that you can activate and use to travel around the map to any locations you’ve already discovered or back to your base.
Again, this is something we highly recommend doing whenever you find a statue, otherwise you could spend hours heading to one part of the map only to be killed by a Vanywyrm that seemed to be having a bad time. daytime.
Get a mount
Last but not least, on our list of tips, we advise you to get a mount as soon as possible! Fast travel points are great, and you definitely need to unlock them, but do you really want to scour the map to find them? Of course not: there are friends to catch and a world to explore, you don’t have time to… explore it.
There are flying mounts, ground mounts, and swimming mounts in Palworld. Getting any type of mount will help you traverse different types of terrain much faster than on foot, and you can even use a mount to attack enemies while you ride them.
