Scizor build: our recommendations for the best Scizor moveset in Pokémon Unite
Scizor dives into the All-Rounder role in Pokémon Unite, so this Pokémon’s playstyle focuses on targeting enemy Pokémon using its mobility to smoothly engage/disengage and hit them up close. If you haven’t played as an All-Rounder Pokémon yet, Scizor is a stylish and defensive option to start learning this role.
Looking at Scizor’s stats, he’s a fierce all-rounder thanks to his extremely high attack, high mobility, and penchant for stamina. When using Scizor, you will damage your opponents and survive long fights with its defensive abilities. Staying alive is of great importance so as not to fall behind in experience or neglect to help allies in combat. You don’t want to run out of experience, so you can level up quickly.
As a Scizor, you’ll need to be near a ranged attacker like Mew, next to a supporter like Hoopa to heal with Hyperspace Hole, or a Speedster like Dodrio to keep up with noisy moves used on enemy Pokemon. like Drill Peck.
Spinning with a ranged attacker will cause you to lower the opponent’s HP and cause them to flee to heal themselves or activate their focus bands. A Supporter will allow Scizor to better survive or help steal Wild Pokémon from enemies. Speedsters allow Scizor to track enemies that burst to stun low HP enemy attackers.
Scizor’s ability – Technician – activates when Scizor uses a move. The next basic attack will change to deal two consecutive basic attacks. The second basic attack being less damaging.
You’ll want to juggle your moves and weave in basic attacks after each use; use a move like Bullet Punch, then your basic double attack and finish with another Bullet Punch. Everything works in tandem. Make sure you don’t fail to provide this technician follow-up. Although this second consecutive basic attack deals less damage, there is a chance that it will be a critical hit; particularly because Scizor excels at having a higher innate critical hit rate than his Scyther counterpart.
Every third basic attack with Scizor is a boosted attack. Scizor’s boosted attack will reduce enemy movement speed when hitting the enemy and increase Scizor’s own defense stat. This defense boost can stack, making Scizor optimal for surviving long fights in a match after your teammates have been knocked out.
At the start of the match, you will have to choose between Fury Cutter and Quick Attack.
We recommend choosing fast attack, if you use the central zone. This move allows you to walk through walls, so you can easily start attacking wild Xatu rather than making the long way. If you choose the top or bottom path instead, choose fury cutteras its conical distance can hit both Bunnelby in the hallways.
At level 5, you will choose Bullet Punchbecause this move evolves Scyther into Scizor.
With Bullet Punch, Scizor will dash forward and fire three quick hits if it hits a Pokemon. These quick silver hits will heal the user and reduce the cooldown of Bullet Punch. If Bullet Punch is used again within the time limit, Scizor will instead fire five hits which deal increased damage and additional healing. This move is great to use on multiple enemies at once for extra healing, but more importantly, if you pirouette around the map with the move to hit enemy Pokemon, you can cause the Bullet Punch to continually be that stronger version of reduced cooldown.
The constant healing this move provides means you rarely have to return to your team base and can instead focus on gaining experience. You can visually tell the move will be the strongest version of Bullet Punch because Scizor’s claws will glow.
When upgraded, it grants the user a shield after hitting Pokémon.
Reaching level 7, you will then have the choice between Double Hit and Swords Dance.
We recommend picking up Swords Dance, as it’s the intended move for Scizor and exemplifies his strengths. The user will dash then increase their attack for a short time. If Scizor is able to land eight hits while this attack is up, his next basic attack will recall Super Saiyan 4 Goku’s Dragon First, and this crimson attack will pierce enemy Pokémon in a line. It can also critically hit.
When upgraded, the user reduces damage when dashing.
Those required eight hits might seem like a lot to land with Scizor, but with the combined use of Technician’s consecutive double hits and Bullet Punch’s three and then five hits, you can unleash the crimson area of effect on enemies more often. .
Finally, Scizor will learn his Unite Move at level 9 – Red Illusion Dive.
Scizor dashes forward, stinging the enemy to reduce movement speed, before creating five tightly bound, illusory copies of himself in the area. If one of the copies is hit by an enemy Pokémon, it will take damage at the same time as the single copy disappears. During this time, Scizor is able to press the Unite button again to push enemies into a line. If this push hits an Illusionary Copy, it will incapacitate the Pokemon and slam Scizor into the area.
It seems complicated and takes a while to set up effectively with the most use. Use Red Illusion Dive in team fights or take on multiple enemies; try to push or force them into each of the five copies to do maximum damage. Remember to use your follow up to nudge them in a straight line. You want to use it at the start of a fight and with the use of allies to push enemies into those illusions.
The illusions will disappear as soon as Scizor is stunned, so you’ll want to use it at the start of a teamfight – not when Scizor is already very low with Bullet Punch on cooldown.
Scizor’s evolution line in Pokémon Unite explained
Scizor is placed at the end of a two-stage evolution line – meaning that in Pokémon Unite it starts the game as Scyther.
Scyther will evolve into Scizor at level 5 only when choosing Bullet Punch. Don’t choose Dual Wingbeat or Scyther won’t evolve into Scizor.
Aside from his massive stat boost when evolving, Scizor will also gain 10% critical hit rate and 5% lifesteal when evolving.
Best Kept Items for Scizor in Pokémon Unite Explained
When deciding what items to hold in Pokémon Unite, you need to consider which items will increase the Pokémon’s strengths and then hide its weaknesses.
Scizor will be able to survive long battles of multiple enemy Pokemon and rush to score points. For these reasons, Scizor will need Muscle band, politics of weakness
Most of Scizor’s damage will come from his basic attacks, so we want to have Muscle Band to increase attack speed. Due to Scizor’s high defense increase or damage reduction with Swords Dance dash and low healing cooldown with Bullet Punch, Weakness policy will increase and add additional attack charges each time Scizor is hit.
Scizor is going to be touched a lot.
As long as you have Muscle Band equipped, your other options can be the Scope Aim and/or Razor Claw for more critical hitting abilities. Razor Claw will slow down enemies. This will decrease Scizor’s survivability, but Scizor himself is tankier and more mobile than other All-Rounders. Muscle Band, Focus Band and Scope Lens also work in combination with Scizor.

The best battle items for Scizor in Pokémon Unite explained
It is best to choose X speed for Scizor’s battle item in Pokémon Unite. Scizor can sometimes have trouble catching up to the enemy. It may have mobile options with Bullet Punch and Swords Dance, but neither of these moves are obstacle resistant. Scizor can be slower than many enemy Pokemon in the game with very little space to catch them.
X Speed helps keep Scizor from being hampered, so he can dive into enemies with greater ease.
How to Unlock Scizor in Pokémon Unite
Scizor can be purchased with 575 Aeos Gems and will be available for purchase with Aeos Coins one week after its release in Pokémon Unite.
Scizor himself is much more tanky than his Scyther counterpart. Scizor focuses on getting in close, using his claws to take out enemies, and surviving long fights through the various damage reductions he gains, healing with Bullet Punch, or other stacks of defense with its reinforced attacks.
Good luck out there with Scizor!
