Power Plant Field Research Tasks in Pokémon Go
During the Power Plant event in Pokémon Go, you’ll be able to collect a selection of exclusive Field Research tasks from rotating PokéStops. You can save these tasks and complete them after the event is over if you wish.
Here are the Power Plant Field Research tasks and their rewards:
- Catch 5 Electric-type Pokemon reward – Electrike, Joltik or Helioptile encounter
- Make 3 Curveball throws reward – Magnemite or Voltorb encounter
- Walk 1km Reward – Helioptile Encounter
- Walk 2km reward – Meeting between Trubbish and Alolan Grimer
- Walk 4km reward – Emolga reward
- Take a Snapshot of a Wild Electric-Type Pokemon reward – 25 mega ampharos or manectric energy

Power Plant appears and event bonuses in Pokémon Go
The main draw of the Power Plant event is the release of Helioptile and Heliolisk in Pokémon Go. These Electric and Normal-type Pokémon hail from the Kalos region, making them part of Generation 6.
Helioptile will appear in the wild alongside the following Pokémon:
- magnetite
- make up
- Voltorb
- Electrode
- Electrabuzz
- Volteon
- Porygon
- Trubbish
Electric and Steel-type Pokémon have also invaded One-Star Raids, with Pikachu, Beldum, Shinx, Blitzle, and Klink all available for battle.
The three-star and five-star raid pools will change at 10 a.m. local time on Monday, January 24, with Regice becoming available in five-star raids. Meanwhile, in three-star raids, you’ll be able to take on Dewgong, Piloswine, Monferno, and Druddigon.
In end of Monday, January 24 at 12 p.m. (local time), Team Go Rocket will also be pushing their evil agenda again. They will start to invade PokéStops and their balloons will fly more frequently in the sky. You can also use a Charged TM on a Shadow Pokémon to help it forget about Frustration.

Heritage Season continues in 2022, with the XP Challenge and an updated Go Battle League. In progress are the Arlo, Cliff, Sierra, and Giovanni counters. Major updates from the previous year include an increase in the level cap, the introduction of XL Candy, improvements to some XP sources, and the addition of Platinum Medals.

The Power Plant event in Pokémon Go runs from From Wednesday January 19 to Tuesday February 1 at 10 a.m. (local time).
