Silent Hill 2 D1 Combination Lock Puzzle Solution

You have to go through an entire trip to Brookhaven Hospital to solve the D1 combination lock puzzle, as it involves finding many key items for the X-ray viewer puzzle – which gives you the code when solved .

First, you need to find the mold remover in the kitchen in 1F, which you only gain access to after finding the key to interior room 1F in exam room 3 in 3F, near the puzzle -Ray. Then you combine the mold remover on the moldy x-ray located inside the treatment room in 2F to get the cleaned x-ray.

The treatment room is accessed by entering the correct code from the nurse’s station keypad, which is calculated by retrieving the combination note from the keypad in the doctor’s lounge on 1F.

Once you have the cleaned x-ray, return to the x-ray viewer puzzle on 3F and collect the x-ray of a pelvis on the exam bed next to the x-ray viewer. You can now use these two x-rays , as well as the x-rays already attached to the viewer, to match all images with the marks on the viewer.

The difficulty of the puzzle you are playing only determines how many useful markers you get on the spectator, as it is the exact same puzzle and code whether you play on “Standard” or “Hard” mode.

So, to solve the X-ray viewer puzzle, you need to:

Place the skull x-ray vertically near the text “Skull Trauma” on the left side.
Place the pelvis x-ray horizontally so that it matches the scratches on the skull x-ray.
Place the hand x-ray horizontally to match the scratches with the pelvis x-ray.

Place the rib cage x-ray horizontally on the right side to match the scratches on the hand x-ray.

If you have placed all the images correctly, you will see the code glowing on the images: 4, 37, 12. Match this with the arrows on the door of D1 and you will get the correct D1 combination lock code: right 4 , left 37, right 12.
