Backhand blades are one of eight new weapon types introduced in Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, and as the name suggests, these swords are wielded using a backhand hilt.

There are three backband blades in total to obtain in Shadow of the Erdtree, and they are among the easiest new weapons to obtain early on, as players don’t need to beat tough bosses to find them . Backhand blade location

Location: Northeast of the Charred Ruins in the Tomb Plain, next to a large funerary monument patrolled by masked enemies holding candlesticks.

Skill:Blind spot” – a skill that allows you to jump into close combat to take advantage of the enemy’s blind spot and gore them from the side. Inputs determine which side you strike from. This attack passes through the guard of the ‘opponent.

Location: Dropped by Curseblade enemies. You can find these enemies in Gravesite Plain, perched atop some pillars in the main field (as pictured above), but we found our Curseblade Circus after defeating one in the tower leading to the Belurat Tower Settlement boss.

Skill:Deadly Dance‘ – an aggressive spinning skill that tears apart enemies using the circular blades held in each hand. Additional inputs allow precise tracking of ax blows.
