Discovery Crystal Tears of the Elden Ring will help increase your chances of survival and allow you to customize your builds and character more than before.
Alongside Flask of Crimson Tears and Flask of Cerulean Tears – which increase HP and FP respectively, and require Golden Seeds and Sacred Tears to be upgraded – is the Flask of Wondrous Physick, which can be found relatively early.
While it can only be used once (although it also replenishes after resting at a Grace Site, like other flasks), you can customize its properties by equipping different Crystal Tears .
Basically, you can think of it as an extra healing flask or you can apply more interesting buffs and temporary effects. Even better, you can mix two different types of effects at the same time.
This page explains our recommendations for best crystal tears in Elden Ring so you’ll want to concoct your ideal blend.

Location Opaline Bubbletear
This provides significant damage negation once. This essentially forms a bubble shield that lets you withstand a single hit with small damage, even attacks that would typically be a single hit.
Ideally, use it before entering a boss fight, but be aware that the effect also expires after a certain amount of time, and while it might save you on the first hit, you won’t be so lucky if you get caught. into an enemy’s combo or one of those excruciating grabs where they deal multiple damage.
The Opaline Bubbletear is fortunately found quite early at Minor Erdtree in the Weeping Peninsula south of Limgrave. When you first reach the area after the Sacrifice Bridge, keep going until there is a fork in the road where you can backtrack northwest to higher ground, which will takes you south to Grace’s Watchtower site.
From here continue west and cross a bridge and you will soon reach the Minor Erdtree, which is to the south.
Defeat the Erdtree avatar in this area and it will drop the Bubbletear Opaline.
Crimsonburst Crystal Tear location
This gradually regenerates HP over three minutes, its long duration makes it quite ideal to have in a boss fight. While regeneration is slow, meaning you still rely on your Crimson Tears to properly heal you when your health is dangerously low, every little bit counts and it’s pretty much able to negate the effects of poison.
Also, if you have a buff that deals higher damage at full HP, but you’re around 90%, it saves you from having to waste a healing flask to get the perks.
Fortunately, the Crimsonburst Crystal Tear is also earned by defeat the Erdtree avatar at the Weeping Peninsula Minor Erdtree – which means you get this and Opaline Bubbletear in one battle.
Greenburst Crystal Tear location
This Temporarily increases stamina recovery speed. Given how important stamina is in Elden Ring, this will be an important buff to have, although it’s also what the Green Turtle Talisman already does, which you can equip as a permanent buff. Still, the option is there in case you want to use your talisman slots for something else.
To get this Crystal Tear, you must go to the Erdtree Miner in Caelidalthough you don’t have to venture too deep into the area to find it, as it’s only a short distance from East Limgrave, in particular Smoldering Church which sits on the border of the two.
You should be able to see the Minor Erdtree from here, but approach it from the left side in order to descend to the base of the tree. You’ll encounter a few enemies along the way, but Torrent can easily outrun them.
You’ll have to fight a putrid avatar here – a tougher version of the Erdtree Avatar but also has an AOE that can inflict Scarlet Rot. Defeat him and you’ll get the Greenburst Crystal Tear.
Twiggy Cracked Tear location
This prevents you from losing your runes on death. It’s basically like equipping a sacrificial twig in your talisman slot, except if these are lost after one use, you can reuse it as many times as you want as long as it’s shuffled with the marvelous physics flask .
It only lasts three minutes once you’ve used the flask, though, so if you do get into a surprise ambush after that time, you’re out of luck.
Since Grace Site of Leyndell’s Outer Wall Battlefield, head east to the Lesser Erdtree to the east.
Luckily, you don’t have to fight an avatar here, just a small mob of enemies and their leader. Once they are taken care of, the Twiggy Cracked Tear is the basis of the Minor Erdtree in a stone bowl.
Crimson Bubbletear Location
This grants you a burst of health when your HP is extremely low. Healing isn’t much but could be a lifesaver when an attack leaves you near death.
A word of warning though that this won’t save you if the enemy’s attack is strong enough to kill you. The effect also only lasts for a short time after using the vial.
You won’t find this one before much later in the game in the Mountaintops of the Giants. But once you reach this area, the minor Erdtree you’re looking for is to the east.
From the Snow Valley Ruins Overlook Site of Grace, there’s a narrow bridge you can make to the southeast and you’ll find the Minor Erdtree to your right. Defeat the Erdtree Avatar there to get the Crystal Tear.
Once you’ve chosen a starting class (like samurai) and a starting souvenir item, you first need to figure out how to level up, how to respec, and how to use Ashes of War and Attribute Scaling. Need direction from there? Try to find Golden Seeds, Holy Tears, Crystal Tears, Talismans, and some of our top weapon and armor picks. If you want to improve your prowess, we recommend farming runes – especially before facing Magrit, Godrick the grafted, Crystalian, Leonine Misbegotten, Starscourge Radahn (required as part of the Ranni quest), Red Wolf of Radagon and Renalla Queen of the Full Moon after finding the location of the Glittering Stone Key.
Severed Crystal Tear Location
A faulty, volatile crystal tear that explodes after a few seconds. It might not seem like a very good thing to mix, but it has its mischievous uses.
Think of it as a suicide bomb dealing massive holy damage and you might find it a sneaky tactic if you engage in PvP. Better yet, you can actually find two of these ruptured tears, combining the two for more than double the damage.
The first broken tear can be found at the Minor Erdtree southwest of Liurnia, just northwest of the converted Tower of Grace site. You will need to fight an Erdtree avatar to get it.
The second broken tear can be found in the Consecrated Snowfield, the secret area west of Mountaintops of the Giants that can only be accessed using the secret medallion of Haligtree by following the questline from Latenna the Albinauric.
As visibility isn’t great in this area, it’s worth picking up the area’s map fragment, which will show you the location of the Minor Erdtree, northeast of the field of grace site. indoor consecrated snow.
Head in that direction and you’ll eventually find your path blocked by rocks. There is however an opening further north which will take you to the Minor Erdtree.
Watch out for spear-wielding enemies along the way, then prepare to fight a putrid avatar in order to get your crystal tear.
Have fun experimenting with Crystal Tear combinations!
