Once the Zodiac Jobs and License program is open in-game, each time a new person joins your team you will be able to assign them a job.

How to create the best team in Final Fantasy 12 The Zodiac Age
During the beginning of the game, you'll only have three characters to choose from, but in time you'll get a long list of 6 where you can meet up with a team of three to explore, and it's important to spread out different classes to cover all bases.
There is no "right" way to do it, and choosing the right team is the 10th skill, but here are a few tips:
- The White Mage is important – Some classes like Archer and Red Battlemage can use low-level white spells that will get you into the first half of the game, but as you progress you won't be able to continue long without some advanced spell, Bugs is done.
