Frog Fanatic is sencario in The Sims 4 available in April and May 2022.
The Sims 4 introduced scenarios at the end of November last year, and this scenario asks you to get your hands on all things frog – whether that means looking into dirty ponds, moss-covered logs or just putting your hands at the nearest water pump.
The full storyline reads: “A Sim is frantically trying to piece together all the facts about frogs in the world. After all, frogs are creatures that can be used for a whole host of things…even breeding!
Although it seems like a simple task at first, there’s more to this scenario than meets the eye – which is probably why it has an intermediate difficulty rating.

How to Start the Frog Fanatic Storyline in The Sims 4
When starting The Sims 4, players will see on the right side a panel with different options, such as Resume, Load Game, New Game, etc. One of these options is Play Scenario. Click on this option and you will be presented with a list of different scenarios.
There are many scenarios to choose from, but the one you’ll want is Frog Fanatic. Click on it and a menu will appear, explaining what you need to do, as well as what you’ll need to get started. Luckily, it’s not that bad: you just need a young adult Sim.
You don’t really need to customize your Sim for this scenario – especially if you like using cheats to help you get through – but for those who want to spend more time with Frog Fanatic, we recommend picking up the Collector Aspiration as it helps to find rare collectibles (including frogs) more often. You should also choose the Loner trait if all you plan to do is collect frogs, otherwise your Sim will be depressed.
Apart from that, you are free to place your Sim wherever you want and finally jump into the storyline.
Frog Fanatic Storyline Stages
Overall, there are 9 different things Simmers need to do to complete the Frog Fanatic storyline in The Sims 4.
These are:
- Catch a frog in a log
- Catch a frog in a pond
- Catch a frog with a water pump
- Raise 9 frogs
- Cook a Pot of Boiling Frog (Level 7 cooking required)
- Fish using the frog as bait (level 3 fishing required)
- Catch or breed 8 unique common frogs
- Catch or raise 6 uncommon frogs
- Catch or breed 4 unique rare frogs
Seems like a lot to do, but you can finish the storyline in days (if you don’t want to cheat on your skills, like cooking) or in hours. What if you get stuck? Just hover over the storyline challenges and it’ll give you a hint on what to do next.
The best thing about this scenario is that you only have to move from one world to another because it is easy to complete the challenge while visiting Oasis Springs and Willow Creek.
The following is a breakdown of the steps above…
Catch a frog in a log
A log frog can easily be found by visiting parks that have fishing areas or are surrounded by woods. Unfortunately, they’re quite small, so it can be easy to miss them, but there are at least several logs in Willow Creek’s Magnolia Blossom Park.
Once you find a journal, it will only offer you one option: look for frogs. Once clicked, your Sim will spend a few seconds looking for said frogs, before triumphing. It’s one task less, there are 8 left to do.
Catch a frog in a pond
Catching a frog in a pond is the easiest way to complete the Frog Fanatic challenge, simply because you’ll be able to find a good majority of the 25 different frogs you can collect in The Sims 4 without having to rely too heavily on breeding.
The wrong side? There’s a small chance you won’t be able to find a frog when using the pond, but the chance of getting rarer frogs is pretty much guaranteed. So, aside from using the water pump and logs, we recommend sticking to places where there is a pond.
It could be the pond in Oasis Springs Park or, if you’re in the mood and have some money, you can create your own on your land. You’re more likely to get rarer frogs there, and it’s less far for you when you want to practice your cooking skills.
Catch a frog with a water pump
Unlike most other worlds, water pumps only seem to pop up around the dry, sandy place of Oasis Springs.
Water pumps are pretty much scattered around Oasis Springs, sometimes you’ll find them in the front or back of residential lots, while other times they’ll be secured in the back of community lots.
The number one place we recommend you go for this challenge though is Oasis Springs Desert Bloom Park. This water pump is especially hard to find because it’s tucked away in a small corner, making it easy to look at. But don’t worry, we’ll tell you exactly where it is.
Walk past the pond until you find a small stream that leads you to a public restroom. Keep following the stream to the right where there is a small dip in the center, and you can spot the retracted water pump. Click on it and you can search for frogs.
Raise 9 frogs
It only takes a few seconds to breed frogs, but the wait time between breedings can be rough. Here’s how the breeding process works:
Unfortunately, you’ll have to wait at least 4 in-game hours to spawn your frogs again. It can be annoying, but in the meantime, you can spend your time improving your fishing and/or cooking skills. Or you can keep trying to catch more frogs. We will not judge.
Boil a pot of hot frogs
For this stage of The Sims 4 Frog Fanatic scenario, you need to be a level 7 cook. This can be achieved easily through the power of cheats, or if you really want to get away with it without having to delve into easier methods, cooking non-stop while you wait for frog farming.
Then you can cook a boiling hot frog pot by clicking on a stove and scrolling through your list until you find the right recipe. Once done, serve them delicious toads for you and all your friends. They will thank you for it… Probably.
Fish using the frog as bait
For this challenge, you’ll need to be level 3 in fishing, which is much easier to do if you’re fishing/searching for frogs while waiting for the breeding cooldown to expire.
Once you’re at level 3, click on a body of water that either has the fishing symbol next to it, or a pond, and choose the option that says “Fishing with Bait”. You can then use a frog to fish, which will give you a chance to get a rarer fish.
The Sims 4 list of rare and common frogs
Catching and breeding frogs is pretty straightforward, with the catch being that you have to write down the names of each frog to make sure you can breed them with other named frogs to get more uncommon and rare variations.
However, be aware that there are some frogs that can only be found by searching for them in rivers, ponds, logs, etc., so pay close attention to the names listed below to see which frogs can be bred to make them interesting and unique. variants. However, be warned, not all farms make new variations and it will take time to complete your collection of frogs.
