The FTAC Recognition is a powerful combat rifle in Warzone 2.0and is a safer avenue of attack for less aggressive playstyles.
However, it’s not a run-and-gun type weapon, nor does it have enough range to be one you’ll want to shoot down sniper lines. What it lacks in close-range and long-range effectiveness, it makes up for in strong mid-range combat, and as such is a solid option for your time in Warzone 2.0.
In order to help emphasize a more cautious and calculated style of play, on this page we will explain how to unlock FTAC Reconas well as recommending an accessory set, perk set, and gear that will help you build the best FTAC Recon loadout.
On this page:
How to Unlock FTAC Recon in Warzone 2.0
To access the FTAC Recon, you need to level the M4 up to level 13.
This is one of the easiest battle rifles to unlock in the game compared to the others on offer.
After that, all you have to do is use and upgrade the FTAC Recon – and any other guns you want to unlock attachments – and you’ll also work to unlock another gun, the FSS Hurricane.
Warzone 2.0 FTAC Recon best loadout and attachments
These are the best Warzone 2.0 FTAC Recon loadouts and attachments:
- Rear handle: Supports Grip CP90 (unlocks at FTAC Recon Lv. 15)
- Barrel: Bull Rider 16.5″ (unlocks at FTAC Recon Lv. 22) / 419MM EXF Barrel (unlocks at FTAC Recon Lv. 6)
- Sub-barrel: VX Pinapple (unlocks at 556 Icarus Lv. 14)
- Optical: HMW-20 Optics (unlocks at Lachmann-762 Lv. 2)
- Store: Demo Precision Elite Factory (unlocks at 556 Icarus Lv. 8)
This list of attachments is focused on improving the FTAC Recon’s ability to hit enemies at medium to long range.
While it’s a great all-around combat rifle, it mostly shines when it finds a good position and hunts enemies from afar.
The CP90 support the rear grip will give the rifle more aiming stability and flinch resistance, although it will reduce the weapon’s mobility and handling stats, but overall the stability and flinch resistance is much more important given the style of play we are thinking of.
For the barrel slot, running the Bull Rider 16.5″ is the best option due to its increased recoil control, damage range, and bullet speed – all useful for consecutive shots and consistent accuracy.
As it takes a while to unlock this particular attachment, an alternative you can use until then is the 419mm EXF Cannon – unlocked by leveling the FTAC Recon to level 6.
As for what to choose for the slot under the barrel, the VX Pineapple The grip works great as it increases the rifle’s accuracy and recoil control stats.
Next, we move on to the key attachment that’s really going to make this whole build work – the HMW-20 optics is fundamental for this loadout to work as it will grant an 8.0x magnified sight which will be exactly what you need for attacking medium to long ranges.
Alternatively, if you prefer something closer, a standard red dot sight or the hybrid fire dot – which allows you to switch between 4.3x magnification and a standard reflex sight – are also excellent choices.
As for the FTAC Recon’s final accessory, while the gun has very few options for the stock slot, the Precision Elite Factory Demo stock is what we recommend for this loadout to work, largely thanks to its recoil control improvements.

Warzone 2.0 FTAC Recon best class build including perk set and gear
Our picks for the best Warzone 2.0 FTAC Recon secondary, perk package, and gear are:
- Benefits package: Weapons Specialist (unlocks at level 1)
- Secondary: Lachman Sub AKA MP5 (unlocks at Lachman-556 Lv. 12)
- Tactical: Shock Stick (unlocks at level 1)
- Deadly: C4 (unlocks at level 23) / Claymore (unlocks at level 25)
For this particular loadout, we’re going with the Weapons Specialist perk package which includes the following four perks: Overkill, Strong Arm, Spotter, and Survivor.
The FTAC Recon’s place in this build is obviously a semi-automatic rifle – although you can upgrade to a fully automatic rifle at any time – which won’t really do much good at close range. With that in mind, we’re going with a backup option.
With the ability to carry a primary in the secondary slot provided by the Exaggerated advantage, we recommend that you take the Lachmann Sub – commonly called – as the MP5.
While the MP5 takes a bit of work to unlock through the Lachmann and Meer platform, the VEL 46 – unlocked from the start – or FSS Hurricane – available once you reach FTAC Recon level 12 – are solid alternatives for you. troubleshoot until you unlock MP5, or if you just prefer one of these two in general.
Regarding the second advantage, strong arm will allow gear to be thrown farther, providing a shown arc of each throw’s trajectory – this perk isn’t going to elevate this class at all, but it’s a nice bonus.
As for the third advantage, Observer – will allow you to see enemy gear and field upgrades through walls. ADS-ing will highlight them for your team, and you can hack them to turn gear – like Claymores, Proximity Mines, C4s, and Trophy Systems – against the enemy.
Regarding the fourth and last benefit, you will get Survivor As part of this perk set, having any enemy that takes you down will ping your teammates, telling them where the enemy is – additionally, this perk will allow you to be revived faster by your teammates.
We’ve chosen this perk package because it’s the only one with Overkill available – if you prefer, the Recon, Scout or Sentinel perk packages might suit you better, each with their own survivability and durability upgrades. stealth.
Looking at which lethal grenade to choose from, we recommend going with either C4, Claymore or Proximity Mine – the latter is primarily used to guide you until you unlock the Claymore – as this will provide an effective save when it’s sitting in one spot. Remember that you can still pick up the Claymore or Proxy mine if you switch positions.
As a final aspect of this loadout, you’ll want to take either a Flash Grenade or Shock Stick for your tactical grenade – the first if you move around a bit more, and the second if you want to lean more into an overwatch teammate support role – paired with C4 it gives you some firepower to use against n anyone use vehicles while you are in Al Mazrah.
