The Warzone 2.0 release time is almost there – and the closed for the original Warzone.
Don’t worry, Warzone 1 won’t be gone forever. It will enter a hiatus while the devs focus on launching Warzone 2.0, before it returns with the brand new name.
There are a lot of moving parts when it comes to the release of Warzone 2.0, so you’ll probably need a little help figuring it all out.

Warzone 2.0 release time: When does Warzone 2.0 release?
Warzone 2.0 will launch on Wednesday November 16 at the following times:
- UK: 6:00 p.m. (GMT)
- Europe: 7pm (CET)
- United States West Coast: 10am (PT)
- US East Coast: 1 p.m. (ET)
Warzone 2.0 and its new map will launch alongside Modern Warfare 2 Season 1, which is expected to add new weapons, maps, and Operators.
Before that, however, there’s the option to preload and say goodbye to the original Warzone – for a short time, anyway…
Warzone 2.0 Preload Time
You can start preloading Warzone 2.0 – as well as downloading the update with Season 1 for Modern Warfare 2 – two full days before launch.
In other words, Warzone 2.0 preloading begins monday november 14 at the following times:
- UK: 6:00 p.m. (GMT)
- Europe: 7pm (CET)
- United States West Coast: 10am (PT)
- US East Coast: 1 p.m. (ET)
When does Warzone close?
To focus on the launch of Warzone 2.0, developers at Activision will be taking the original Warzone offline for a short time.
During this period, Warzone will be completely inaccessible. The downtime will take place on Wednesday November 16 at the following times:
- UK: 4 p.m. (GMT)
- Europe: 5pm (CET)
- United States West Coast: 8am (PT)
- US East Coast: 11 a.m. (ET)
It’s two hours before the launch of Warzone 2.0 – so you won’t be too long without a free Call of Duty battle royale at your fingertips.
From there, the original Warzone will then be renamed “Call of Duty: Warzone Caldera” and will return on November 28 at 10am PT / 6pm GMT.
As a thank you to the community, everyone who played the original Warzone will receive “some items to use” in its sequel.
