What is Waveplate in Wuthering Waves?
Waveplate is a currency used to farm various types of character and weapon upgrade materials in Wuthering Waves. Basically, it’s an endurance systemso unlike other in-game currencies, Waveplate replenishes over time at a rate of a Waveplate every six minuteswith a maximum limit of 240. It takes 24 hours to completely replen ish Waveplate if you start from scratch.
There is no reserve once your Waveplate reaches the limit of 240 – so you either spend it or lose any materials you might get!
Here are all the ways you can spend Waveplate in Wuthering Wavesand what types of materials they deposit:
- Counterfeit Challenge (Cost 40 Waveplate) – Materials to upgrade characters’ weapons and skills (Fortes).
- Simulation Challenge (Cost 40 Waveplate) – EXP materials for character and weapon upgrades, as well as Shell Credits.
- Boss Challenge (Cost 60 Waveplate) – Character Ascension Materials.
- Silent field cleaning (Cost 60 Waveplate) – Echoes and tuners for echoes.
- Weekly Challenge (Cost 60 Waveplate) – Bosses drop materials needed to upgrade the character’s Forts.
For their later Forte levels, characters need materials that you can only get through weekly challenges, like Monument Bell and Unending Destruction. You can only challenge these weekly bosses three times per week, so choose wisely! Fortunately, other challenges do not have a weekly limit.
Also keep in mind that you can combine some of your lower level materials with higher level materials using the synthesizer.
Finally, a time-saving tip when trying to figure out where to find specific gear to level up a character or weapon is to select the gear you need from the “Resonator” menu itself. This brings up the source of the material at the bottom of the context menu. Select the source from here to quickly mark where you need to go on the map or to direct you to the in-game store where you can purchase it.
How to get more Waveplate in Wuthering Waves
There are three ways to get more Waveplate in Wuthering Waves:
The main way to get Waveplate is to simply wait for it to replenish over time. If you’re in a hurry to upgrade your characters or weapons, you can use the Crystal Solvent item to replenish Waveplate. You get 60 Waveplate for one Crystal Solvent used, and you can use Crystal Solvent by going to the “Valuables” tab in the “Backpack” menu, or when you run out of Waveplate when trying to claim your rewards from challenge.
We have more details in our Crystal Solvent guide, but in general the best way to consistently obtain Crystal Solvent is to upgrade the free and premium tiers of the Pioneer Podcast battle pass.
You can also replenish Waveplate by spending Astrite at a rate of 60 Astrite for 60 Waveplate Energy. There’s a limit to doing this six times a day though, and it’s not really worth it in our opinion, as the Tides you can buy with Astrite are pretty worth it in the long run. But it’s up to you!
Good luck farming these materials in Wuthering Waves!
