You can find Hestu In Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom much sooner than you could in Breath of the Wild and start expanding your inventory soon after landing in Hyrule.
Hestu moves around a bit this time, although the basic method of expanding your inventory remains the same in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Be sure to save a few Koroks on your journey so you have enough Korok Seeds to give to Hestu.
Below you will learn where to find hestu in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom so you can expand your inventory.

Hestu location in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
The first place you can find Hestu in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is in the Hyrule Ridge area near Lindor’s Brow Skyview Tower. The easiest way to get there is to launch yourself out of the Lookout Landing tower and slide west. Be sure to pack an energizing elixir or stamina dish so you can glide longer and cover more ground.
Hestu is at the base of Lindor’s Brow, cowering in fear near a cave. He tells you the source of his fear if you talk to him – two seemingly normal trees a few feet away. Trees attack once you approach them.
Use a sharp weapon – a sword or an axe, for example – to defeat them. It should only take about four hits, but make sure to dodge when you see the tree backing up a bit. It will slam its trunk and inflict heavy damage.
The tree monsters revert back to normal logs after defeating them, so if you need extra wood bundles, remember to chop the logs before talking to Hestu again.
Hestu is overflowing with gratitude when you return and offers to expand your inventory in exchange for Korok Seeds. Hestu says “pouch” in the singular, but you can choose one of your three pouches for him to upgrade.
Hestu performs a small dance after you hand him a seed, and you gain an inventory slot upon completion. He lingers in the same spot until you give him a second Korok Seed. After that, Hestu says he is heading east where there are more people.
Where did Hestu go in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom?
Virtually everything in Hyrule is “east” of Hyrule Ridge, but you don’t have to travel far to find Hestu in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Return to Lookout Landing and you’ll find Hestu standing near the southern gate of the settlement. It will continue to expand your inventory in exchange for Korok Seeds.
Hestu stays at Lookout Landing until you remove the Gloom from Korok Forest, so you can just quickly return to town as soon as he leaves. The process is more complicated than simply following torches through wood and involves a journey into the depths.
See our guide on how to traverse Lost Woods in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom for specific instructions. Once the forest becomes habitable again, Hestu returns to it and makes it his permanent residence.
Although you don’t have to send Hestu home, it’s worth it. You must enter Korok Forest to restore the Master Sword.
