That’s where the story comes from The anacrusis begins, but I’m here to give you some insider tips so you can make the most of your time on the Isolde, the massive spaceship on which our foursome must gear up, learn to fight, and defeat the alien hordes to get a chance to have to save mankind.
1: The first thing everyone should know is to use all the tools at your disposal. There’s no need to stockpile grenades or special weapons in your fight against the alien hordes – throw those stasis grenades, drop the auto turret and fire your bowgun. The director will let the loot flow.
2: Pulse is your best friend. It will get you out of trouble, but only if you use it! It knocks away all enemies around you, so a quick pulse can clear a path through a horde, push an attacker over a ledge, or just buy you enough time to reload your blaster. If you upgrade it with the right perks, you can even offer some protection to your teammates.
3: Listen to the characters, they will give you a lot of valuable information. Not only do they talk about their hopes and dreams, but they also tell you what you should do in each episode and even call out warnings when they see a special enemy, valuable healing item, or special weapon. They even summon enemies to sneak up on you from behind.
4: You will love Matter Compilers. Each one comes with a selection of perks to choose from that you will find in-game. At the end of each episode, you’ll have a unique build put together from the 40 (and counting) perks we’ve created. Don’t worry, we won’t make you do the math. Our perks equip your character with new skills that will change the way you play, instead of boring, incremental damage upgrades.
5: Pay attention to the perks you select! Many of them interact with each other to become super powerful. Healing Goo, which lets you temporarily give your teammates health using Goo grenades, coupled with Grenade Extender, which gives you more grenade space, turns you into a long-distance healing machine for teammates.
6: If you find a Matter Compiler, be sure to talk to your teammates about your perk build! They’re nice people and they probably smell nice. Most perks have multiple additions. For example, if your teammate has the targeting protocol that allows them to auto-tag special enemies when they aim down sights, picking up the tagged protocol will give you an adrenaline rush as everyone tagging a special enemy.
7: At the same time, there are a handful of perks that are almost always useful. The quick shots that come with Fast Heals have saved my team more than once. Turning headshots into AE explosives with the Criticality perk is always a crowd pleaser. And anything that gives you more Pulse Charges or a faster Pulse Charge is a winner.
8th: A well-timed impulse can parry most ranged attacks. It throws spawner turret projectiles back to their source, blocking a grapple’s long, scrawny arms and preventing Gooper shots from hitting their intended target. The timing is tricky, but try to get the pulse after hearing the characters shout a warning.
9: With multiple enemies you can grab or otherwise immobilize, the best strategy I’ve found is to avoid getting cornered. Standing in a corner or protected area invites you to be grabbed, gooped, or bombarded with spawner turrets. A strafing or quick impulse can block most ranged attacks. Maintaining your mobility will keep you alive.
10: The best way to deal with Brutes is with the Stasis Grenade. The second best way to deal with Brutes is with Explosives. The third best way to deal with Brutes is Fire. And the fourth best way to deal with Brutes is with weapons. The fifth best way to deal with Brutes is to dodge them. Let us know if you survive long enough to find the sixth best path.
